I like them. I love the colors. If you’re frustrated, though, maybe take a step back and try again in a month. Put it on your calendar, so you don’t forget to try again. Although, I’m not sure waiting is the exact right thing to do. Sometimes it is better to continue while making notes of what did and didn’t work, what changes you tried, and what your solution might be. (Aren’t I just great at the wishy-washy advice?) Whatever you decide, good luck. Maybe, try a little interference powder in with the purple, or in the clear. I can see the purple in the “cracks”. It seems to me that the specific gravity of the ink, paste, and powders make a real difference to what drops to the side intended to be the top. Is there a gold ink, or paste? Remember, you can always market as a double-sided coaster and let the customer decide which side they prefer. There is beauty in the imperfections. And, to add another cliché, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Beautiful job as always! I always enjoy your videos. A little trick I learned from other artist is if you put your mica in and then spray some 91% or higher isopropyl alcohol to make like a slurry or paste it will dissolve the mica so it doesn’t come up in your resin pieces. It should melt right into your resin easily when you mix.

You are such an inspiration for all of us! Magnificent job, Julie! I don't know why the purple ( and the white!) hides in these, but I do wonder if maybe a different brand of one or more of some of the colors would have a different outcome. Not enough hours in the day, huh? Anyway, I think I speak for many here in saying we never get tired of seeing you perfect whichever projects you are trying to perfect. And they all look perfect to us!❤️

I love the peacock tries. Try the red purple on the outside ring, and instead of gold, try an antique bronze or copper, or color shift metallic. With gold opposite purple on the color wheel, the gold might be toning your purple out.

Julie! They are perfect! But when i try to do them, I dont get the dragon scale that you get! Which makes me so sad. Is it because I am using unbranded Mica Powders from Ali express? I only have the white color in resin concentrated form the rest are mica! Please help

Maybe not put the 2nd puddle of gold in and it will make the center color show better? The gold is such a strong and heavy color, that it always takes over. But they are pretty

I’m the same way.. I will keep going until I’m satisfied with the outcome. Maybe a purple mica? That might make it drop. The colors you’ve done are beautiful.. I was wondering what a rose gold would look like tho. I bought a sample pack of Eye Candy mica’s and the Vibrant Bronze is gorgeous, it looks like a Rose Gold rather than bronze to me. I just used it today. The picture on Amazon doesn’t do it justice. I love your videos. I think you should keep going if you want to.

Alcohol inks are flammable!!!! lolololol….. I was watching and was thinking I sure hope those don’t catch on fire!!!! Last week I had spritzed my chess board with my 99.9% alcohol to bring the bubbles up to pop… and without even thinking I grabbed my long neck lighter to run it over the board and that alcohol lit right up… thankfully I was able to blow out the flame with out having to throw something on top of it, ruining the resin….
