Thanks to you, I got my MTD Yard Machine mower back up and running! The valve on mine was stuck because the o-ring came off and was blocking the piston so that it couldn't open or close completely! Thanks for the help!

@ils360 i can turn it over by hand and if i jump it to my truck it turns over and still drags just like the starter doesn't have enough ass to turn it over now or something , it was running last summer like a champ but this year i went to start it and it turns 3/4 of the way and then drags really bad but you can take the plug out of it and it'll turn like crazy , it's just like it has too much compression if there is such a thing.

Mine engine started to produce lot of smoke after start. I didn't use it after. It was working fine for a long time,and all of the sudden,started producing lot of smoke after start. What could be the problem? Do you have any idea?
@ils36010 ай бұрын
How long was it sitting for if at all? Take a look at your dipstick and see if the oil is overfilled and if it smells like fuel sometimes the float in the carburetor can get stuck open and send straight gasoline into the engine filling the oil with gasoline which can make it smoke pretty bad. What color is the smoke? White black kind of a bluish haze?

Got a question... I have a craftsman with a single cylinder 16hp briggs on it. I have had people tell me what they think is wrong but i wanted your opinion too since you work on them all the time. it turns so far when turning it over then it siezes up like it's bound up inside or something. i've been told that it needs the valve re-gapped it's an OHV motor sound about right?

You have to replace the head gasket. Otherwise it’s going to keep smoking and blowing oil out of the exhaust..
@ils3605 жыл бұрын
I did just didn't show it in the video and the oil and smoke coming out of the exhaust was from me putting oil in the intake did you not watch that part? Also on these engines when the head gaskets go they do not suck oil into the engine they just simply lose compression...

@@codykielbasa773 really hard to diagnose without looking at it. Have you ever had it running? The coil that you're using is it a Briggs & Stratton part or is it an aftermarket? I have seen that some aftermarket coils can actually change the timing of the engine and prevent them from starting.
