Growing up since the 1990's here and the West side has always had 'the ghetto rep' the only town that is worse is Guadalupe. But that place is literally a little Mexico in the middle of Tempe.

I mean politicians can't change laws without the voters voting for those laws. So is it really only the politicans fault, or is it maybe that voters have no idea what they're voting on? I think it's the ladder. Take CA for example - I highly doubt any voter who said yes on Prop 47/57 forsaw what's now happening in CA to be their new reality. Grew up in Maryvale in the 70's and early 80's. We moved the hell out in 1982 because the decline had started and it was becoming unsafe, now it's a war zone and just blighted.
