This is such a beautiful masterclass in lying/blame shifting to protect your own ass and everyone seeing right through it. Yes I am writing an essay below. I am just so fascinated by the weirdness/pathological character study of our own Sapphire. 1. Earl is the EP of the event. He gets passes from sales to hand out to guests. 2. When he gets to the venue he allegedly (he’s totally lying about this) gives them to Pitsy to hand out. 3. John c Riley cancels, Earl doesn’t hand out the passes, or, as EP follow up with Pitsy (who he lied about giving the passes to) to see if he did it. Basically just forgets they exist until someone else notices. Another huge tidbit is what Dave said. Even tho John C cancelling had nothing to do with Earl, he was way too afraid to even tell Ron about it- thus letting more and more guests leave. All because Earl can’t have ANY negative things of any sort fall remotely close to him. 4. It was too late. The opportunity to compensate the guests had passed, and he was the one responsible for either: handing them out, or delegating to his team to hand out (totally lied about giving them to Pitsy btw) 5. The pathological liar/afraid to take any heat for anything side of Earl starts spinning in his mind and he has to convince himself he didn’t do anything wrong, so he decides to make up the lie that he told Pitsy to do it. And AGAIN. As EP- regardless of who he told to do it- HE is the one RESPONSIBLE because they were given to him. 6. The next day on air, when the lies don’t work, he hits a “well I guess I’m always wrong” gimmick. Is this considered gas lighting? There’s a name for this sort of “well I guess I’m just the bad guy and it’s always my fault” deflection when under heat. 7. When people don’t let THAT tactic work, he brings up unrelated topics, details from the event that have only the smallest relation to the problem on hand, in order to get the heat off him again. 8. Angry outburst/walk out. Will he EVER win? I guess we’ll never know.

I've been an fan of the whole channel for about 13 years. As I get older and I listen to these I start to see the dysfunctional behaviours and mindsets. Earl was not good at the EP job but was a great board op. If he realised his own limitations he should've had a great career. But because he didn't realise that he was asocial and introverted he always would put himself in position that required him to be very social and adaptable. And he was always so filled with shame to just feel like he made a mistake. Ron, Dave and fez did nothing to help him. But Ron is not a nice guy and exploited earls issues to further his own ends: Ron has always been a bully, Earl has always been a high functioning autistic

Earl wanted so badly to please Ron and Fez and be loyal to them but he was trying to do it in a capacity in which he just wasnt capable.. in another one of these R&F clips Earl's talking on air about how he sees himself as Tony Dungy (LOL) and how much more he "wants it" than all of the other producers, lol.. he said something along the lines of, "I can take criticism, frankly I want criticism because I rise to the occasion when stakes are high and it just makes me perform even better." That's when I realized he had ZERO self awareness, lmao.. He ended up becoming such a nervous wreck that by the end of his tenure he could barely operate the board any longer..

Notice how no one calls Ron a "bully" for making fun of literally anyone else on the show other than Earl or Fez. Gotta be able to break someone's balls without them throwing a bitch fit about it. He joined a radio show knowing what it was, stayed for years while knowing what it was, constantly lied about his mistakes, fucked up on the board all the time, and refused to ever acknowledge when he did something wrong. He constantly blames others for his failures, takes credit for other people's work, and sleeps on the job. He's still employed to this day, if I recall correctly, by Ron, the only boss who would ever, ever tolerate Earl's level of absolute bullshit. He's not a bully, he's a radio host finding shit to entertain his listeners. Earl's only entertainment value (and only skill in general) is constantly fucking up. He can take some ball breaking, or gtfo.
