On this episode of Mad Ginger Customs the old 1950 Ford Shoebox gets some love. Having been off the road for over 50 years has taken it's toll on the wiring! We install a universal wiring harness. That doesn't go as planned!! Will we burn the car to the ground? Also the car gets a complete fuel system and fuel cell. Lastly let's install the Ford T bird leather bench seat!

Wow I’m over the pond at the moment and it’s been hard to watch after work and stay awake. It’s taken me 3 tries to get through the whole video without falling asleep. Not that your video is boring it been a lot of jet lag. It’s nice to how simple this process. It’s so simple a dumb refer guy could do it. (I’m referring to myself) I’ve got to get the rear end back in mine so I can get it in the garage to keep working on it this winter. I don't have a pile of $ to draw from, so I do all my own work to the best of my abilities, not as good as some but better than others. I put a made in china back-up camera in my truck. had to replace all the wires, and, directions didn't bother to tell me in writing or the picture that it needed a relay. great video as usual.

Love the lights. We had a shoe box when i was a kid. Peole woul not see those little brakr lights and run into us. Bak the the safty fix was install an auxiliary brake ligh in the rear window

I really like the wheel choice on this. I don't have a problem with adding some modern conveniences to an old car if its done with some taste and not overdone...my daily is a 62 f100 unibody that I did the full frame crown vic swap on and I kept all the modern stuff and I love it...its essentially a 96 crown vic that looks like a 62 ford.

Sometimes you can quieten down external electrical fuel pumps by putting thick, rubber washers between the fuel pump mount and the mounting point. It’ll reduce the vibration and echo off of the metal.

This car is really shaping up. Watching walkaround around 31:00, it occurred to me that a light satin gray on all of the rusty exterior chrome would look pretty cool against black sheetmetal. Clean ratty. Sandpaper and paint > high $ rechroming. Maybe even carry that satin gray into the interior, door panel inserts, yadda yadda.

Need a 3 prong flasher to make the indicator work. I have the same turn signal switch on my '47 Tudor Sedan. Mine also had the GM alternator on it but I opted for the PowerMaster alternator that looks like the original generator. "Flatheads Forever"

I Put a Speedway Harness in my Model A Hot Rod. Everything was well marked, but I retained the old gas tank Placing Everything Below Tank was Difficult & the GM steering Column with all its wires around it Really Was a Problem, Clutch Brake Pedals on Each Side Have to Drive With no Shoes on Because of Catching the wires on Column. Absolutely modern components! Not sure I like the red halos, but I don’t need to like them. It’s your rig. I’d like to have thin white halos that function like the lights on my 2015 Charger. Someone already hacked up my dash where the radio goes. One of my goals is to put a nice Apple play radio and a little stubby antenna off a modern car. And of course, I’ll go get one out of a salvage yard. Nobody else has to like it.

Your speedo might work... Take the speedo out and use a drill to see if the magnets and hair spring in it are still good. I got a new cable for my '50 Ford F-1 from Speedway or maybe it was Dennis Carpenter. Had to do some modifying on the end of the cable to get it to work with a '49 Speedo I got from my friend's father. How does the dash come out? I'd like to see how you get yours out.

When you go with an electric pump you got to have a regulatory on fuel line caburater have lower psi and the fuel injection has a higher psi you can get it at a parts store.

This pump is a low psi pump. A regulator may be needed if we keep this carb setup. Should be fine with a standard Holley 4bbl I'd think. Thanks for watching!

Yeah, I know. I thought about it for a while and wanted to keep the plumbing towards the front. This thing has no baffles or foam so we'll have to keep it fairly full. What's the flathead make really? It's not putting anyone in their seat!
