Priming the system- SO MUCH AIR IN THE LINES NO MATTER HOW MUCH I BLEED THEM!! engine will run fine fuel filter full primed then as soon as filter fuel burns up, she starving for fuel. would this screen restrict fuel from the tank to pump? why is system building so much air? bleeding, Priming all Day can't get this engine to come out off it

Would a 10+micron filter be a good alternative to the screen? I know on common rail I always delete the factory fuel filtration with better filters

on a 12 pre pump if ypu want a fuel i would use 30-40 micron

Would you happen to know the part number of the o-ring and or the screen ? Thanks! Great videos!!

Sorry i don’t but if you call Cummins with you engine number they can help with numbers

So i hear a lot of people saying the fuel heater doesn't do anything. Would you consider keeping it for running waste oil? Im running my first tank of it but if it genuinely doesn't do anything then I should just get rid of it
@CUTTERUPROB2 жыл бұрын
I would add a coolant style heater over that small electric one myself.

I’d assume it would clog the screen in the fuel heater running waste oil id delete it

@@brycechow9178 I'm going to eventually just delete it but I've ran almost 200 gallons of it in the 12 valve. I set up dual tanks about 90 gallons ago working great so far

Having electrical issues now I removed the heater ! When I hit bumps on the road the head lights flicker and my dash clusters flicker and my cigarette lighter power goes off and on! Help ?

Check you grounds and battery terminals. You s should cap of cover the fuel heater connector. But it will only come on what it’s cold enough to do so.
@exousa9295Ай бұрын
where do you get the gasket to the fuel heater bowl?
@jasonfarnsworth58808 ай бұрын
The right thing to do is just take the heat element out and keep the pre-filter then you don’t have to change nothing. It’ll screw right together without the heater come on brother you better than this.

i see no reason to keep it in there, in all the one i have pulled i have never had a issue, that and the same pump on industrial engines dont have one

I took the screen out and it was clean as a whistle, but when instarted back up the wires on top of the heater burned out. But I have power now. What is that about?

What do you do with the line coming from the fuel filter housing down into the top on of the fuel heater housing?
@CUTTERUPROB2 жыл бұрын
The line goes from the pump to the fuel housing. The others get deleted and the inlet goes to the pump
@grantburris28042 жыл бұрын
For your one wire alternator (I followed your video as well with same parts) you just need a ground that goes to frame or engine and positive to battery correct?
@brucemarcy5392 жыл бұрын
so what fitting or size is that inlet?

Where do the rigid lines go? The one on the pump I assume goes to the filter but where does/did the rigid line off the heater go? What do you do with it when you delete it?
@CUTTERUPROB Жыл бұрын
the on on the heater is feed from the tank , other is the feed from pump to filter
@bodereiss Жыл бұрын
@@CUTTERUPROB ahh that makes sense. I rewatched and forgot about the little rubber hose between the two so in my mind there was 3 lines out of the pump. I’m wanting to run a different fuel filter and eliminate the stock filter and housing. Have you seen any setups that work well in the 94-98 models? I don’t want it mounded on the side of the engine- that’s buried in there and a PITA to get to. I assume I’ll need to mount it on the frame rail or under the hood on the fender or? I’m open to other ideas. Thx

I followed your steps installing the fuel heater delete. I left the plug hanging and now it’s acting up! The lights on my truck flicker when I hit bumps going down the road , and my cigarette lighter turns on ans off ? Not sure what’s going on!

After deleting my element only…on the morning startup you can see power cycling off and on by watching the voltmeter and of course it affects the idle even though it’s unplugged? There’s no heater so what is drawing that power?How do I stop that?

you delete it , line can go for the fuel ( from tank ) right into the pump

Thinking of increasing feed fuel line diameter and watched this video to have an idea of how restricted the fuel is going through the heater. Changed my fuel water separator and cleaned out the pre filter screen, it was full of dirt

@@CUTTERUPROB www.torkteknology.com/technical-article-1-cummins-lift-pump/ www.torkteknology.com/technical-article-2-the-diesel-fuel-system-inlet-line/ I found this after wondering why my fuel pressure would drop at 2200rpm and when the governor spring would start defueling at the injector pump. I would have thought the pressure would spike due to the fact the injector pump was causing the choke point. I could be wrong and have to look into the p7100 diagram, but studying fluids I had to do some research
