Yes same, but even more sad for me was when afterwards Clay (on the ledge) understands how their relationship contributed to the end. He admits he was afraid to love her and it literally broke him. Idk why that part gets me but I can never watch it without crying. Damn the feels yo… 🥺💔

Is that a boy-girl thing or Clay-Hannah thing? I bet you'd also wish you'd never went to Jessica's. Right Clay? I talked to you a million times before but tonight was different and I didn't know what to say to you. But when you finally came up to me, you knew just how to break the ice. I was so nervous that night, but you made it seem so easy. So, let's start with the part of the party that I left out. At that moment, everything was perfect. And for the first time in a long time, I could imagine a future where I was happy. How good life could be. And I know you felt it too. I wanted you to do everything you were doing, so I don't know why my mind took me everywhere else. And I thought of every other guy. Part of me was saying "Please don't leave." Part of me never wanted to see you again. But you walked out the door, like I told you to. Why'd you have to leave? It was the worst thing ever. And then it got worse. Clay, Helmet, your name does not belong on this list, but you need to be here if I'm going to tell my story. If I'm going to explain why I did what I did. Because you aren't every other guy. You're different. You're good and kind and decent and I didn't deserve to be with someone like you. I never would. I would've ruined you. It wasn't you. It was me. And everything that's happened to me.

The most emotional episode in the show . Seeing how everybody was caring about Clay and concern about him . I was confused why but then I saw why. Seeing how horrible the tapes are and how Clays tape is simple the butterfly effect of everything . Could’ve destroyed him .

I haven't seen the show but I read the book. I think Hannah wanted Clay to know that what she did wasn't his fault, that he was the only one who she connected with enough that she wouldn't have done what she had done. I don't know about the show, but I thought the point of her talking to him, telling him her story was so that he would know what happened to her because he had reached out to her, to thank him for caring about her and to let him know that it wasn't anything he did wrong or didn't do she was just too far gone by the time they had their moment at the party. That was my impression of it, anyway.

There's always parts of the tapes we don't listen since we're already seeing what's happening. For example, when Clay goes to Bryce's house with a gun, "Ghost Hannah" starts narrating parts of Bryce's tape we've never heard before.
