@@kingpoot4900 Well if you're not Mexican, it's a little complicated to explain. Mexicans have a day called Dio de los muertos ("Day of the Dead" in english) which is to celebrate our dead relatives. And a way that we celebrate is that we put pictures of our dead relatives along with food and other stuff on a decorated table called the ofrenda ("offering" in english) which is to allow the ghosts of our relatives to cross over and join us at the ofrenda. The only way the ghosts can cross over to Earth is if we have their picture on the ofrenda. So that's why he said someone has to take Hannah's picture off the ofrenda because then that would remove her from Earth and get her away from Clay lol.

That’s odd because a lot of what you said is why I did like it somewhat. First season felt too idealistic in some respects, but this one exposed Hannah for being quite a shitty person in some ways, even bullying someone herself. This humanised her, whereas she was once just a faultless victim. And Clay realises Hannah isn't some perfect angel, so I’m happy with all that. Zach’s story felt almost shoehorned in, but it was alright so I can forgive that. And Bryce avoiding jail shows the powerlessness of the characters to change things, and is probably one of the more realistic sides of the show. Some series go off the rails as they progress, but if anything more realism is seeping in as we go on here. What I’m wondering is WHY ON EARTH DID NINA BURN THE PICTURES?! Like honestly the show makes me annoyed at rape victims and understanding of school shooters. I exaggerate slightly, but it's just funny really.

His motivations to shoot up the school was perfectly complex and valid a mixture of his own bad decisions, social anxieties, and over all social dealings in high school. He had a clear reason to shoot to school up arguably seeing he was basically an outcast. However adding the unnecessary prison rape scene just made it cartoonishly evil. Like well shit if they going to take it to that extreme why not shot up the school.

A few years ago, a story like this got very big when a mentally disabled student was sexually assaulted with a broom handle by football players. Shit like that HAPPENS. Everything culminated to this for Tyler. He didn't shoot up the school bc Clay was able to talk him off the ledge and say the basic thing no one ever said to Hannah or Alex. Season 1 was okay. Overrated, but okay. Season 2 was horrible and graphic--that bathroom scene had me shaking and I wasn't able to finish that episode until hours after I had settled down. I don't care what you say about male rape, that crap isn't okay to show like that without a warning. The warnings at the beginning of those episodes were bullcrap, don't even argue against me on that. Nobody was expecting that kind of shock factor. Kids don't deserve to see that, do you think they actually watch this with their parents? No. They're being desensitized to rape. The characters were horribly written, save for Justin. Maybe. Even his character was just messed up, but he was the only one I actually liked (and Jeff). Basically I hated how: this season depicted sexual assault in various offensive ways, their depiction of bullying was pretty off (fight me I was bullied for years and witness to some terrible things between other kids), Bryce never got justice served, rape pictures were being kept, rape pictures were not being sent to the police anonymously at least, that weird scene in the courtroom where all the women in the show talked about sexual assault, that random lady staying with Hannah's mom being pushy, how being raped was an honor badge, the "teenage slang and language" the writers failed to pull off, *not talking to adults about your problems,* genital cutting (I had never even heard of that--and I'm sure that this show gave some wrong people other very wrong ideas), every scene with Clay ruining his character, how Clay saw Hannah as perfect to the point of unhealthy obsession, that super weird Molly episode and animated opening, how Hannah was still there after death, every single school shooting tease scene they built up with Tyler, Tyler being bullied nonstop by people who didn't deserve to say crap, making us root for Tyler the future school shooter instead of the main characters (that's just not a healthy way to go about writing characters), the bathroom scene with Tyler, everything that happened to Tyler basically, how timelines were messed up from season 1 ( that popping wrist joke had me laughing), and how Hannah was seen as desirable by every. Single. Character. In. This. Show. There is a lot more, but that's all I dare comment on a KZbin video and it's long enough as is. Fight or agree with me, this is what I think of this overrated show.

One of my best friends committed suicide 3 years ago. I was infuriated with the first season for how they depicted suicide, and from what I hear they have not learned from any of their mistakes for the second season. I have never despised anything this much. Usually I can just wave it off as 'harmless' but not here. Screw the people who made this show.
