I like how natural your combinations look. Not commercial, just pleasing and peaceful feeling.

Thank you Mary! You’ve described exactly the mood I strive to create and feel in the garden. I think I’ve become much more comfortable over the years planting what I like where I like it, as long as the plants can grow well in their spots. Less formal, more natural…more me. 🤗

Beautiful combinations Laura! In my back flower bed, I have a Cryptomeria Globosa Nana with some Proven Winners Wild Rose Heuchera planted around it. I love the texture of the evergreen next to the large colorful heuchera leaves. Especially pretty in the Spring before perennial flowers have started to fill in.

Oh my that sounds so pretty! I love a great evergreen + colorful foliage plant combo! Do you have your Wild Rose Heuchera in sun or shade? I know they can handle both, so I was just curious . . . as I love this variety and might want to add it into a more sunnier spot or two or three!

My favorite in my garden is red knockout roses with autumn joy sedum. Love all your combinations and going to try a few.

Oh that's a unique combination! 🌹The wonderful green color of the sedum with the darker green leaves of the Knock Outs must look so striking, not to mention the flowers on both - especially at the end of Summer going into the Fall season! Love it!😀

Hello, what an inspiring video! It’s the first one I’ve seen on your channel, and I’ll certainly check out others. I loved the geranium rozanne in front of a shrub idea, and will try that with a physocarpus, as I have both of those. In my garden, I love my combination of stacchys lambs ear with erigeron in my rockery. I also have a sunshine blue caryopteris with a mini ring of sedum just in front, which are just coming into their own and looking great! Thank you for this video- it gave me confidence to see how the rozanne will look, as I’ve never grown that before.

Thanks for sharing! I love the idea of Rozanne with your Physocarpus - very unique pairing! And the fuzzy Lamb's Ear with Erigeron is a favorite combination of mine, as my parents have them growing together in their landscape! I just planted a Caryopteris this year in my new drought-tolerant bed, but want to wait until next year to see what I might add to the bed. I have several perennials growing near it, but my beloved Sunsparkler Wildfire Sedum actually died from too much rain. (It figures I plant a drought-tolerant bed and then we get way too much rain this Summer.) 😀

My climate is very different, hot and dry. Agave do amazing here. I have a row of very large blue agave americana with praire sun rudbeckia in front of it. That yellow just pops on that background of pale blue.

Under my Bloodgood Japanese maple, I have alternating Jack Frost Brunnera and various coral bells. I also like Autumn Frost hostas mixed with the blue blooms of my TinyTough Stuff hydrangeas. I think everything goes well with Boulevard Cypress.

Nice! I just planted a Bloodgood and was trying to figure out what to plant underneath. The citronella and southern comfort coral bells look like they would shine.

I love these combinations. I have not seen many of the plants you mentioned in our local nursery -- winter heath, Rosie Posie :(. We are zone 6 and they seem to be perennial in our zone too.

The Kramer's Red Winter Heath I have seen every Spring (in early Spring) sold locally at Home Depot, which always surprises me because it isn't a common shrub. But that's where you might find it next year. I have never seen Rosie Posie locally around here either, so I ordered them online. The pint-sized plants I bought grew very quickly once the heat kicked in. (I got them from Great Garden Plants online, if you're interested.) 👍😀

My geranium roxanne was defoliated by oriental beetles. I hope they come back in the spring. I just put them in to shade the roots of a clematis. It worked beautifully, until the beetles showed up. 😢
@GardenSanity
@GardenSanity 20 күн бұрын
Oh Christine, that's horrible about the beetles! 😭 Although beetles can fly in from other landscapes next to yours, as a preventative you might want to try putting a grub killer in your garden soil and/or lawn. There's many products out there - organic and chemical options - as those grubs are what turn into beetles. 🪲 You've inspired me with the idea of planting Rozanne to shade the roots of Clematis! I imagine it looks stunning, and although I'm still deciding on a place for at least one Clematis in my landscape, I'll definitely be planting Rozanne at the base! Fabulous idea! 💙
