I love your garden. The slugs don't usually eat the Brunner so something else is eating your jack of diamonds.

Fun fact: Bumblebees and worker bees of the Honey & Mason variety will actually fall asleep for the night in blooms of flowers. That’s why we have to be careful when cutting flowers, watering, or spraying for pests (if people choose to). 🙂 Your garden is beautiful and holding up very well with this summer heat and rain spells we have been having! 💐

Thanks so much for sharing this fun - and important - fact about bees! 🐝 I’ve seen them sleeping on flowers in my garden before, but this was my first time seeing them sleeping in the Rose of Sharon flowers! 🌸🩷 Yes, so far so good with my gardens but I feel like any moment it could all change with this extreme heat. 🥵

Your garden looks so good including redbud stick! I’ve had so many fails this year. Half my dahlia tubers turned to mush. Roses and begonias turned into bug salad. Old wood blooming hydrangeas with frozen buds. The hits keep coming!

Thanks Will - glad you noticed the redbud stick! I’m not even trying Dahlias because I think they would be a fail for me, as most of my space is on the moist side versus dry. My Knockout roses took a huge hit with black spot. I’m slowly tackling it and maybe they will start to look good by October. 🤣 I’ve heard a lot of gardeners complain about Aphids and the freezes we had. This Summer has been tough. 😕

Maybe some hydrangea bouquets would reduce the weight on that branch? Everything looks so lovely, especially after a heat wave.

Thank you so much Linh! 😊 I spray my Reminiscent Pink with Captain Jack’s Neem Oil 3-in-1. I bet your Reminiscent Coral is beautiful - a bright color in a smaller size! 🌺

I had the same situation as you with my "little/regular quick fire". The tag said "Quick Fire" but the label on the 1gallon said "Little Quick Fire" from home Depot too. Im waiting for Lowe's in Canada to put out their clearance sale. I want to get two 2gallon Little Hottie. Lowe's in Canada doesn't really give out clearance that much. 😂 Im hopeful 😂

So frustrating when the big-box stores mis-label plants. You and I had the exact same experience! Fingers crossed that you can find a Little Hottie - they’re adorable!

@@GardenSanity if it turn out it's a quick fire then I have 2. Because this May I got a 3.5 gallon quick fire at Costco for $28.98 😅😂🤣

That’s funny Tiffanie! I’m hoping mine turns out to be a Quick Fire, as I don’t really need a fifth “Little” variety! 😅

I think i over fertilize my little quick fire this year. So it has grown at ten times the size i bought on a 1 gallons clearance sale last October at home Depot. The leaves are healthy deep green and the stems are 3 times thicker than yours 🤦‍♀️🤣😂😅

Sounds like you may have run into what I did: a mis-labeled plant that is actually a full-size Quick Fire! 🤔🙃🙂 Over-fertilizing shouldn’t cause that much growth…

Hi Laura. Did you remove your Dapple Willows? Brunnera are definitely not slug proof… Mine gets devoured by them. 😢
