I am in my 50s and I am 5”9” and I hold my weight pretty well, but at 190 and no relief in sight I had to try something! I am in menopause and when I tell you, I could not stop eating I kid you not I felt like I guess the best way I could describe it is when I heard drug addicts and extra drug addicts say they kept looking for their next fix I kept looking for more junk food Candy pie cookies everything that was sweet and anything. I have entered my second week, and I feel like this is a miracle and I feel like what I want to achieve is so that the food noise can stop so I can learn to eat well it really took me a while to start this because my doctor didn’t approve it first but then my BMI went up to 28 and he told me my insurance wouldn’t pay for it and Total was 30 BMI which is sad so they basically want you to be at type two diabetic doorStep before the insurance company pays for it. 🎤 Just started Mounjaro yesterday. I have Type II diabetes with a high A1C. It was recommended by my Cardiologist and PCP. Injected in my stomach. I was very nervous, but didn’t even feel it. After losing, 70lbs on Saxenda, started Zepbound (2.4) last Saturday. Not experiencing appetite suppression. First time, since late 2022, am hungry! On Saxenda, appetite suppression kicked in at 0.6 mg ( lowest dosage) Sticking to high protein/ low carb, 1800 calorie meal plan, water, green tea, protein breakfast bar, and no sugar, fast food or sweets! I'm trying to figure out if this is a side effect of mounjaro or a symptom of low thyroid....I am exhausted all the time! I mean fall asleep, there isn't enough coffee in the world tired. Elizabeth probably has a better read on this than I do (‘cuz I have not directly experienced either side effect), but, yes, fatigue and chills are both reported side effects of Mounjaro for some ppl. Not that you shouldn’t talk to your doctor about possible low thyroid. 🧑‍⚕️ So, did you just recently move up to the 12.5? If so, chills and increased fatigue could just be your body getting used to the dose increase. If not, then some ppl report electrolytes as helping a bit with fatigue. Also, hopefully you are getting enough calories… women should not go below 1200 calories or so (for guys its ~1500). Too-low calories can *definitely* cause both side effects. Finally, exercise can help with both issues, if you’re not doing something there already. Some ppl think exercise will drain them (and maybe at first it can), but ultimately it does improve energy levels and help turn your body’s thermostat up. 🌡 Good luck, and hopefully Liz weighs in as well, or someone who has directly experienced those particular side effects. 🤔

My husband is a type 2 diabetic as well as heart patient (quadruple by pass surgery 2020). He has gained a lot of weight and Dr prescribed mounjaro. He's in week 4 of taking 2.5 mlg. Thank you for the video as he has experienced some of the side effects as you described beginning in week 1 and continuing. I plan to share the video with him. Thanks again😊

@@PharmGirl9875 I’m good. I’m taking my 4th pen today. I haven’t really felt much. No appetite suppression, no side effects (which I’m happy about) or anything really. So my doctor is actually switching me over to wegovy to see if it’ll do a little more. I’ve lost 4 pounds since starting the first pen, though. So not terrible. Just was hoping for more suppression.

Kroger sells a zero sugar ginger beer that can help a lot with nausea. It’s near the canned tonic water, or sometimes they put it in the alcohol mixer section.

I’m scheduled to start Mounjaro, but I’m having problems with the pharmacy approving it at the moment. They’re sending me back to the doctor for an “alternative” medication. Endless loop.
