I had gastric sleeve surgery and it did not help my hunger. I couldn’t eat as much at a time but still about a normal plate of food but was hungry every couple hours as the food shot through my system. It does nothing for food noise at all. Mounjaro is what I am now using after regaining all the weight from sleeve surgery and for the first time my hunger is slowed. My food noise is gone. Surgery was not able to do the two things I needed.

@shawnrichardson2479 you should have an instruction pamphlet showing the areas in the thigh, stomach and back of arm but basically its the top of the thigh in the top middle fatty part. They state to inject into fatty areas, not muscle and the medication works better. Hope this helps!

I was on Trulicity 5.0 for two years and it lowered my A1C but did not help with weight loss at all. Last December (2023) my doctor switched me to Mounjaro 5.0. By February I had lost 18 pounds. To date I've lost nearly 30 pounds. I am 76 and 5'-2" tall. I've gone from a tight size 14 to a nice fitting size 8 jeans. Love it! Mounjaro was unavailable for three weeks in May, so my doctor called in the 2.5 dose. By then I had hit my goal. I liked the 2.5 better than 5.0 and hoped to use it as a maintenance dose. But after one month, my insurance refused to pay their part. They say the 2.5 is only for starting, not maintenance. Now my doctor says I need to come in and discuss options. Grrrr! I do not inject in my thigh because it bruises me badly. I don't do the backs of my arms because I am alone. I use only rotating stomach locations and it works fine.

Gah! Thank you for this video. I stalled for two months and was doing inner (fatty) thighs and didn’t realize your supposed to do the top of the thighs!! Omg . 😳 (Went back to tummy and weight loss resumed.) Now I know why! Been scared to stall again but I’ll try moving. One of the more recent side effects I believe I am experiencing is dry mouth! Now, this is strange because it is a wide horizontal stripe across my tongue that gets dry. I drink a lot of water, but for some reason, when I go to sleep, I wake up with the wide section of a very dry patch across my tongue. I am on 10mg of mounjaro, but I am seriously considering going down to 7.5. My current dosage doesn't allow me to eat much at all. I'm pretty much at the maintenance level. And I am a rear arm injector. For me, it's the best place. I hope this helps someone.

@@mastinanagel380 hi! About 20 lbs down since starting 5ml 3 months ago. I’ve had a drs appointment and we agreed to move up to 7.5ml. So it’s ordered. Just waiting for it to be stocked. I have one more week of 5ml left. It was an adjustment with side effects when I titrated up from 2.5 to 5. But now I feel I can manage my side effects well by laying low on the weekend. I take the shot Friday morning before work and it starts to make me tired by the time I get home for the weekend. I’ve noticed it’s taken a couple months but I do feel more Snacky and hungry by like weds nights and thurs nights. I find weight fluctuates up and then trends down. And I see it more when I’m focusing on drinking more water and getting my protein in. Thank you for asking! I’m excited to see how 7.5 goes!

Talk to your doctor to find out if they will increase your dosage, my doctor increased my initial dose of 2.5 to 5 after the first month and I will contact them again before my current dose is gone this month. If your side effects are minimal or non existent that's a positive sign for a possible dose increase.

I've only been on mounjaro for 2 weeks. 2.5mg. 1st shot belly. 2nd shot upper thigh. After the second shot I got hives on back, belly arms and legs. I have type 2 diabetes & fatty liver and my old meds stopped working. Health care provider asked if I wanted to keep trying. I'm not sure. Some people have this only one time. Didnt get any mouth or throat issues. Took Allegra Hives and it worked well to clear up syptoms. Cold showers helped too. Anyone have any experience like this? I really want to make this work. Update: I stuck with it and didnt get hives after that. I'm up to 5 mg and no reaction. After 3 months my A1C just tested at 6.2 which is way down from 8.5. Losing weight too. So far so good. Bye Bye Metformin & Actos.
