Wow, I'm kind of blown away after watching this. I love that you had your daughter do this with you, and seeing her completely heartfelt reaction to a pretty heavy song (and the fact that she knows and LOVES the original of it), just brought tears to my eyes too. Couldn't agree more, music is meant to bring all reactions - from happy to sad. I truly think Bad Wolves did it justice, and now knowing the back story makes me feel that even more. I've heard a few people and bands trying to cover this song but none of them ever even got close. Like you said: Covering this song is career suicide! Then The Bad Wolves came along and just killed it! They even managed to add another layer of pain to an already very powerful and legendary song. Quite an achievement! I have been fortunate enough to hear Tommy Vext, their vocalist, sing once when he covered for Ivan Moody from Five Finger Death Punch on their European tour while he was at rehab. I was almost certain the 5FDP concert would be ruined without him but Vext was amazing! That was before this song came out as well and "nobody" knew who Vext was. As great as he sounds here I am fairly certain he will sing as good as this or better live.

Im an old metalhead, so this cover is really good to me. Zombie was one of the first songs I learned to play on guitar. Its fairly easy. This version adds a really creamy guitar solo. I have some serious guitar gear in my garage. When Im in my feels, I play this version on my Jackson Soloist. And yes, the entire neighborhood has to be able to hear it. Cops know me by name. They just walk in the garage and give me "the look". LOL!
