Thirteen-year-old Symaria Glenn fell ill one day after school. Her condition deteriorated, and soon the Florida teen, who loved to perform, was dead from a brain bleed. Her family made the decision to donate her organs. One of the recipients was someone very close to her: Symaria’s own father.

Getting a kidney but having to lose your daughter. You can tell he would've rather died so his daughter could live. It's a sad situation but she's somewhere better He never even told the kids he was sick. You can tell he cares. God on him There should be no guilt here. I know he'll always feel guilty but he really shouldn't

My son is a donor recipient. Thank you so much for your selfless gift. Your beautiful daughter will live on. And dad, there is no guilt you should feel. I know easier said than done, but she's always with you. Live for her, smile for her, and spread the joy she spread to so many. As long as you have memories, she will always be with you. My son says he lives everyday for his donor "brother" because without him, he would not be here. Your family is in my prayers.

Dear Symarias Parents. My own beloved Mrs of now 65 yrs was the recipient of a Kidney donation, transplant. West Michigan. All we ever learned it was a young man who passed from a hunting accident from East Michigan. His loved ones made the most difficult choice a parent ever makes. At the most tragic time. So I say to you n that young mans family,,all donor families . THANK YOU . For giving our family more years with our Wife, mother, grandmother. You ,your child always in our prayers. THANK YOU.

How did a healthy young girl get a brain bleed to begin with? How convenient she died right when her father needed a kidney donor match! I’m not buying it! The cause of brain bleed needs to be INVESTIGATED! Sounds like they chose the father’s life over the child’’s. That mom wanted that man, wanted to finally be married, and all they needed was a donor match. Nobody is asking questions because they donated other organs to others to look like they’re just good samaritans. Investigate!!!

You can see it in his face that he’s thinking about every possible universe where his daughter is still alive, and he just imagines himself being there. My dad passed away from complications from dialysis 2 months ago and one of the complication was a brain bleed that came out of nowhere. He was a kidney transplant recipient 12 years ago. This hits hard for me. If you ever get a headache that is the worst you have ever experienced please go to the ER, do not try to sleep it off. If you ever feel bad in any way, don’t try to sleep it off. Give it at least a few hours because once you fall asleep then no one will be able to help you unless they check up on you which can be hours later.

How did a healthy young girl get a brain bleed to begin with? How convenient she died right when her father was in dire need of a kidney donor match! I’m not buying it! The cause of brain bleed needs to be INVESTIGATED! Seems they chose the father’s life over the child’’s. That mom wanted that man, wanted to finally be married, and all they needed was a donor match. Nobody is asking questions because they donated other organs to others to look like they’re just good samaritans. Investigate!!!

I lost my daughter, and I came to realise that she wasn't meant to be here for a long time. She was here for her purpose, and then God called her home. It doesn't make it any easier. You just learn to live with the pain. This beautiful young girls purpose was to give her dad a new lease on life so he could live for the both of them... one day, he will have a moment where he says to himself, 'this is why our family went through the heartbreaking loss'.

Did anyone else wake up today (or the day you watched this) feeling they were gonna cry??? Everything happens for a reason. Dad's days aren't over thanks to his daughter. Never forget your daughter wants you to live too. Live hard for both of you.

Organ donation is the greatest gift that anyone can give, in passing or even in life. I am so grateful to her parents for making that difficult choice because I know firsthand what it's like to wait on the transplant list. My daughter became a living liver recipient at 6 mo old. We were incredibly blessed to be eligible and find a donor, as a deceased donor liver may or may not have come in time. 1 out of 10 babies and 1 out of 20 kids waiting for a liver will die waiting. I know many kids and adults wait for YEARS for kidneys. Please - in honor of this young woman and the many people waiting for organs, consider registering to be a donor and make your wishes known to your family. 💚

@@JessRareNope, they clearly said “Samaria’s mother made the decision “. Also, in other media coverage of this story the dad said it was his wife’s idea, she pushed it, and he feels guilty”. Notice the mother’s first response was to say “she wouldn’t have been here in the first place if it wasn’t for him”. -Already rationalizing and excusing her decision to sacrifice her daughter. Keeping this man in her life, getting married to him after all these years was more important.

If youre going to feel guilty and unhappy, what's the point? Thats no way to honor your child. No one was prepared for this. Live your best life and thank her daily. Exercise. Stay fit. Be happy! Thats what she would have wanted.
