then you will know that Mary was only chosen to birth the prophesied Jewish Messiah because she was a descendant of KING DAVID (Luke 1:32) -- it was King David that was important to the First Church (Matthew 1:1, Romans 1:3, John 8:42, Rev 5:5), NOT Mary. Even the Resurrected Jesus proclaimed himself the "Offspring of DAVID", not the offspring of Mary (Rev 22:16). You won't find a "sinless, co-redeemer, defeats Satan" Mary anywhere in the NT. WHO defeats Satan according to the Original Church ?? The Son of GOD defeats Satan by His perfect obedience to GOD even to death (Hebr 2:14, Colossians 2:15) -- Mary had nothing to do with Jesus' obedience -- the Fall and Redemption was ONLY between two directly created MEN (1Corinth 15:21-22, 45,47, Romans 5:12-21). How do you not know these simply truths taught by the Original Church in the NT ?????

I love the words, that Plato records of Socrates (a teacher of great excellence), "Whatever else is beautiful apart from absolute beauty is beautiful because it partakes of that absolute beauty, and for no other reason" I can only add in my own humble opinion that the angel or the human is only beautiful whereby it partakes of the Absoulte Beauty of God. How blessed are those teachers of excellence, of whom Jesus Christ being par excellence is in communicating beauty and truth! God bless

the Original Church didn't chant a rosary/mantra of Jesus mom, because in Matthew 6:7-9 Jesus told them NOT to chant the same prayer over and over and over like the pagans, thinking that repetitive chanting has some sort of "power" (to thwart evil or temptation) --- Jesus instructed the Original Church to pray DIRECTLY TO GOD. and Jesus also told the Original Church that there was to be NO one man as a "pope/boss/ruler/lord" over the entire Church because that was the system of authority of the pagan gentiles (Matthew 20:25-26). Peter seconds that in 1Peter 5:3.

Thanks for this discussion. I have the NABRE and it keeps talking about "Marcan source" and "Q" which was confusing, as I was thinking "what do you mean, Marcan source? The source was an eye witness account" which I'd assumed. I didn't know about all the theory that you discussed in this episode. So I looked up Marcan source and Q and saw it was something similar to what you were discussing - I think? Please can you say more about how Marcan priority and Q relate to what you're discussing above? And please can you let me know what Bible version you would recommend, given your discussion? + Brant and Matt, do you agree on the same Bible version? Thank you!

nope. Phil 2:6-8 in the original Greek proves that the PHYSICAL Jesus was zero % GOD. Phil 2:6-8 clearly states that GOD had to EMPTY Himself of His eternal glory/godhood and be made a finite physical Man. The Fall and Redemption of Mankind was between two directly created Men (1Corinth 15:21-22) based solely on the First Adam's disobedience to God and the Second Adam's (Jesus) perfect obedience to GOD even to death on a cross (Romans 5:12-21, 1Corinth 15:45,47).

the Greek words that Jesus used in John 8:58 were "ego" meaning first person "I" and "eimi" meaning "existed, was". The PRE-INCARNATE "Jesus" was GOD Himself (Colossians 1:16-17, Phil 2:6-8) ---- according to Jesus (John 14:10, Luke 4:18) and his Apostles, the physical Jesus was a Man INDWELLED by GOD (Acts 10:38, 2:22). the PHYSICAL Jesus was zero % GOD (John 5:19,30) PROOF: James 1:13 and Hebrews 4:15
