Our FAVORITE and #1 viewed feature on our channel and for a good reason. This 2000hp Volkswagen GTI owned by Bruce Morehouse from Colorado is no ordinary golf (in case that's not obvious from looking at it). It has 1 turbo VR6 motor in the front and another turbo VR6 motor in the back totaling over 2000hp when combined. We could get into the nitty gritty here but it'd be a lot easier and more enjoyable if you just watch the video :P

Thank you. Finally someone gets it. The LS swapped everything is the most annoying part of racing... We get it, you cant think for yourself so you copy the easiest way to go fast and act like you really did it yourself. Drag racing is really the last bastion of innovation, where you can truly create and innovate. I'm super thankful for people like this who say "fuck doing the easy way that anyone with two brain cells can copy" and builds something totally unique that clearly works but seems like it shouldnt. Thank you for a breath of fresh air.

TL;DR: Actuators and air shifters. Basically he tunes it to be rear focused, then full AWD around mid track. The shift timers being controlled by air shifters. He can manually control both engines independently, hence the double burnout, but once he’s stages, both work in tandem. Speed sensors help with ignition cuts when one engine is spinning but the other isn’t. Think of it as around 1500hp total until 3/4 track, then it opens up to the full 2000hp.

Back in...phew...2000(?) there was an article in a German street tuning magazine about a similarly green Volkswagen Scirocco which was even sillier - RWD with two Hyabusa motors, one driving each rear wheel. Yep, it was a 350 HP+...RWD...Scirocco with like a 13,000 rpm redline, etc. Absolute madness. I haven't been able to find anything about it in the past few years, but it was paired with an article on the "Green Hell" or the Nordschleiffe.

This has got to be one of my favorite cars in drag racing. I don't even like VW. This thing is just impressive. The engineering behind it is just ludicrous. It takes a "special" type of person to dream up something like this and execute those plans. I have no doubt it's gone through many changes and revisions since its inception. It certainly didn't get where it is overnight. I would imagine it's a real handful just keeping the car straight and in your lane. AWD, short wheelbase and track width and an ungodly amount of power equals an exceptional amount of fun. Very good mate. I can only imagine what the next vehicle is that you're already dreaming up.
