In this video I bring up the topic of scrap wood. Some will toss it out and others like myself will find a use for it. Well I've got the Echo chainsaw and a couple Stihl chainsaws out to cut up logs into blocks that I will later split into camp firewood and kindling.

Spending time outdoors doing projects with various machines and tools - anything from cutting trees, firewood, clearing brush, milling wood, plowing snow, reviewing, repairing & fabricating equipment. Doing landscaping and maintenance on my forested property using my Kubota tractor.
And its not all work!! Gotta take time to play - after turning my pond into a skating rink, and a whole bunch more of outdoor activities.

Good morning Paul, we use all our "scrap" wood. If it's not for burning in the wood stove we use it for landfill or it goes through the chipper. Thanks for sharing, have a great weekend, Ben 👍

Being the product of Depression era parents, I save it all for "down the line usage" like kindling, skid boards, etc. Have a great weekend, Paul!

Your so right about you can’t keep everything. I was struggling to find a use for all the odd size lumber off the sawmill until my neighbour saw it. He’s pretty delighted to have some of that. I’ve been running a lot of smaller stuff through my chipper to use as trail cover. It works beautifully for that. Have good weekend!

Yeah there always some odd sizes that come off the sawmill, glad your neighbour has a use for it. Wood chips are excellent on the trail. You too Brian have a good weekend!

I use up lots of my scrap wood in my outdoor furnace. I guess I'm lucky that way. Without the furnace, I'm not sure what I would do with the scrap. Take care.

Yes indeed, I do keep too much scrap wood. I've even been know to go around the neighbourhood and picking out scrap wood that some have put out in the trash! LOL My neighbours watch me and laugh! Sure beats buying it to use in the backyard firepit!
