With its brutal 502 cubic inch V8, custom Chris Alston chassis and supple leather interior, this vivid Camaro features a perfect combination of vintage style and cutting edge technologically!
The beneficiary of a high quality, frame-off restoration, this slick, first generation F-Body features an athletic appearance that's ready for prime time show time. The car's metamorphosis started with an original, 1968 Camaro body that appears to have never seen any significant damage. In 2011, that body was shipped to a professional restoration shop where its solid fuselage was massaged into an arrow-straight canvas. Once that body's thoroughly tweaked profile was prepped and ready for paint, a smooth coat of Torch Red basecoat was sealed under a thick clearcoat shell. And today, it all adds up to one very enticing pony car that's sure to please ANY classic car enthusiast!
Lift this F1's glowing hood and you'll find a 502 horsepower, 502 cubic inch GM Performance Parts monster block wedged inside a Torch Red engine bay that's detailed all the way down to its bowtie-branded frame. The big engine's growl originates when wind whips from a chrome, Spectre-equipped air cleaner into a coated Quick Fuel carburetor. That resulting air/fuel mixture makes its way from a coated Weiand Team G intake to aluminum Chevrolet heads. Once the juice hits those heads, a modern HEI distributor sends fire through loomed Pertronix Flame Thrower plug wires to big cylinders that are combusted via aluminum pistons, shot peened connecting rods and a high quality forged crankshaft. Cooling for that fire comes courtesy of a polished aluminum radiator that's sandwiched between a color-keyed shroud and a polished and color-keyed flex fan. And fluid for that cooling system is provided by a coated Edelbrock water pump that, along with a polished alternator and AC compressor, spins via an aesthetically pleasing serpentine system.
Behind that big engine, a strengthened Turbo-Hydramatic 400 spins a posi-traction Ford 9-inch around mild 3.00 gears and Moser 31-spline axles. At the front of that tough drivetrain, a Chris Alston's Chassisworks sub-frame makes good use of custom spindles, fresh coil-over-shocks, coated tubular control arms and manual rack and pinion steering. At the corners of that modern suspension, power-assisted Wilwoods clamp vented and slotted rotors to provide cool and confident stops. And power meets the pavement through razor-sharp Billet Specialties wheels which spin 235/45ZR17 BF Goodrich G-Force T/As in front of 235/50ZR18 BF Goodrich G-Force T/As.
Open this Chevy's tight-fitting doors and you'll find a highly customized interior that wraps 21st century style in a nice blend of comfort and convenience. The car's firm front bucket and rear bench seats have been completely rebuilt and covered in supple leather hides. In front of those surprisingly plush thrones, a leather-wrapped and wood-trimmed dash hangs a full set of Auto Meter Pro Comp Ultra Lites behind a custom instrument panel, billet accessory buttons and a correct Delco radio. And in front of the driver, a polished and wood-rimmed steering wheel spins around a polished and tilting column.
