Thanks for the video. I have one of those brake wrench tools to; I got a few old cars that I can use them on; As well as my 59 M-F 50 gasser, & like you I don't get to use it much, But it's better to have it, & not need it; Than need it, & not have it. Nice brake job; I hope your finger heels up well for you.

I think there is meant to be two screws holding the drum on, which should be put on before adjusting the brakes. After putting the two screws in, you hit the drum with a rubber mallet to make it seat properly and you will find the screws go loose again, so keep doing them up and repeat that till the drum won't go back no more. I hate working with strong springs under tension. Changing brakes, I hate doing it. I also forget which way the adjuster is meant to turn, so I always turn it before putting the drum back, to see which way to do it up. Saves a lot of wasted time accidentally undoing the adjuster when you meant to do it up. I've made that mistake a few times in the past.

Have do it that job too...thats adjust its not complit before braks its the same of both wheels , you wild find it out of a breaktest..its done...

Thanks Jerry. I have just done a friend's 135 similarly however while the brakes work they are not ideal and one has to stand on the pedals very hard to stop. I will drive it around a little bit and give the brakes a chance to bed in, readjust and see if that improves the situation. It's interesting that the brakes on these tractors will stop properly in reverse but not going forwards. Hmm does anyone know why?

Some crowd in Ireland sell soft pads have on my tractor when they bed in she will drag the wheels on tar so well impressed ey I learn the hard way with the brakes went over the ditch

Yep, this is the way. Finger is all healed up now. Brakes are working good.

These brakes are not self adjusting. They will require periodic adjustments as the shoes wear.
