Loved the beginning section - very funny! Ive been decluttering and simplifying for 9 years and Im regarded as weird because: i dont decorate for autumn, nor Halloween; i dont possess a dish drying rack; i dont have rubbish bins in each room ( take your rubbish out with you and put it in the kitchen bin - Im not a servant!); I dont have a pile of letters unopened by the front door; I only have 5 pairs of shoes ( including walking boots and slippers). 😂

We just got our front garden done and it is so tempting to fill it up. Fake grass out front. Real grass out back. All I 'need' is a place to sit and watch little one, a lawn mower, a hose because I dont have an outdoor tap, and whatever it is I need for the grass. Never had a garden before!!!!!

Such great tips. So inspiring thank you, this is helping me create a much more peaceful and less stressful decluttered home. ☺️🤗💐🌻 Youre both so wonderful and have such a warm beautiful energy. And I like the B n w movie beginning, that was fun. Thanks again❤🤗💐

Next up for us is decluttering the kitchen, not devices but food, I love to cook and try things I've never have before. Resulting in lots of grains only used once. Now I am going to eat them but afterwards limit the kitchen to things I eat regularly 😊

Yes I agree with the dish rack. I got rid of mine m I put a tea towel down on the sink and place my wet dishes on to dry.

Very creative! You’ve really upped your game! With 1/3 acre there’s no way I’m getting rid of our electric mower but we did switch from gas for the environment. Most of our neighbours have ride on mowers but we like the exercise. Also door mats are essential in snowy mucky climates to put winter boots on. We also keep a boot tray to keep the entrance drier and less mushy. I have a rule for sentimental items that they either have to fit on specific small designated shelves or be used on a regular basis. It allowed me to pair down a lot while still holding onto a few things I treasure.
@MostlyMindfulКүн бұрын
Thanks Jay! 😁 Those ride-on mowers must make you super lazy. Love your idea to view it as an opportunity for exercise. 😁 Totally agree about door mats - we have one which doubles as Kitty's hangout spot. 😼 We were talking about those pointless (in our opinion) small decorative mats people dot around the home. 🤓
@jayathome2898Күн бұрын
That said our one neighbour is over 80 so having a ride on is allowing him to stay independent in his own home.

Another wonderful video! I already do quite a bit of what you mentioned. Years ago I decided to use the beautiful Wedgewood China, my great-uncle gave me, for every day rather than treating it like a sacred relic. I got rid of all the grass at my former home and didn't use a lawn mower for over 25 years. Now I'm working on converting my half acre lot so I can live that mow free life again. Bye bye grass! I get the bulk of my holiday decor from foraging in my backyard or the nearby woods. This year I made each of my children a wreath of foraged Bittersweet for their holiday gift. LOL. I did advise them to hang it outside because it can be rather messy. The organizing videos on KZbin are one of my pet peeves. Just get rid of it already!!!!! ❤

We knew if anyone would be on the no-lawn bandwagon it'd be you! 😅 How lovely that you're using your great Uncle's china every day. That's how it should be! We totally agree about those organizing videos - maybe we should make a silly spoof version just for fun. 😁
@kfitz192Күн бұрын
@@MostlyMindful It would be great to see you do a spoof on organizing. According to those in the know, I started the grass free trend where I used to live. Personally I'm not sure that's true.

Loved The Great Pillow Caper! What's amazing is that there are people whose job it is to solely tell people to buy stuff. And people willingly sign up to see their adverts! And they feel Loyalty to people whose only purpose was to tell them to buy stuff. Loyalty! As if they're friends. While I'm waiting for dinner to finish cooking, your video is getting me to clear off a surface. When I first set it up, I thought it would hold Useful Things, but it turns out it just accumulated clutter. On the surface, and the entire area in front of it. Gah! Out, out, damned surface! Empty space belongs here, not you!

Bwaaahaaahaaa that's SO funny. We'll have to "steal" that for a future video "Empty space belongs here, not you!" (with due credit of course!). 🤩

I'm so pleased with myself that I'm already following almost all of your suggestions! 🥰 Thank you for the affirmation! I stopped decorating for holidays, but I haven't yet gotten rid of the Christmas ornaments...😢 That's one of the last (and hardest) categories left to declutter, but I hope to get to them in the new year.

Litke by little you'll get there! ❤ And kudos for already having these suggestions in the bag! 😁💥

This was fantastic! Hilarious to start and so informative. Love your editing! I have a dish drainer and a drying mat. I guess I could get rid of the dish drainer. You are correct, I hate cleaning that thing. 😅

Thanks Melissa, we had a lot of fun with this one. And yeah, donate the the dish drainer to some poor unsuspecting soul. 🤣

Pillows are a fantasy of comfort. I have lived without a dish drying rack for four years - I just dry things after I wash them - takes an extra five seconds per item. Clean My Space yt channel has excellent videos on DIY cleaning products.

Thanks for putting Clean My Space on our radar - we'll check it out! You're absolutely right, it takes a short amount of time extra to dry everything and it feels better too! 😁
