To me what opened my eyes was seeing all my aunts and uncles dealing with health problems. I find it crazy how at one point they were young thriving living having fun and now they’re sick all the time or in the hospital or even dying. It makes me sad that life doesn’t always get better the older you get and the NOW is the time to enjoy life because you may not be able to later. I’d say that also so many young people that have died. My cousin was my age and he died last year in an accident. Liam Payne was also someone young who just died and so on. Everyday we have is a blessing and we just have to remember that none of us are invincible.

But there's a shitload of people who didn't grow up in such places, and wished that they'd learned investing sooner, so they could actually get more time back rather than working for someone. Here's a lesson, there's always value in hard work. Do not listen to some aphoristic quotes saying I wish didn't work as hard. That's rubbish. If you're working well towards a long-term goal which will bring long-term happiness to yourself and loved ones around you, do not let anything take you away from that. Also even better is to work for your own assets rather than someone else's. Also did I mention, learn how to invest early?

Videos like this are SO HELPFUL. I've learned this lesson very early in my life... like around Middle Grade or High School years. It defined how I looked to the future of work and "hustle culture" and I realized that nobody doing that is happy when they die. I saw people who focused on work, like my dad, do NOTHING but work to provide for us... but I didn't really get to know him at all. He never had any hobbies because he only had work. That was his ENTIRE life... and I feel like, even though I don't have the "American Dream" I've been, on average, happier and more fulfilled.

This resonates so well for me. Been hesitant to publish my stories for 5-10 years because I always think I ain't good enough yet. Then one day, a few month ago, i thought "F-k it" because i will never be good enough, but if i start, i will get better. That is how stuff works. We get better at what we practise. Even if i dont even have 10 people reading/listening, it is still worth it. For me.

When my grandmother was on her death bed in the hospital, she had so much anxiety and regret. She left everything to my Mom and told her to LIVE NOW! Do not wait till you retire to travel, do not wait till "X" to do "Y", do not wait! If you can do it today, do it. My Mom started traveling, helping other people and doing the things she was afraid to do. When my Mom was on her death bed, she was relaxed, told us she was ready and when she closed her eyes for the last time, she was at peace. Do! Yes, you still have to save some money for tomorrow and retirement, it is balance, not saying spend every dollar today, just say have goals on a regular basis and do them, you will be so much happier.

Thank you for that. Just what I needed to hear right now. Some of my very favorite quotes: "Will your life be an inspiration or a WARNIG?", "Fill your life with memories-not regrets", "Worry will never solve a problem", "Action puts you a day ahead-procrastination puts you a day behind", 'The material "things" filling your house were all once MONEY", "The more you know, the LESS you need" (from a sticker on a bicycle), "You can eat an ELEPHANT one bite at a time". At 79, two things I know for sure: Your children will be grown and gone in what seemed to be the blink of eye , one day you will wake up and suddenly realize you are OLD. TIME is the most valuable commodity we have.

People desire different things at different stages. This is a process that happens layer by layer. Don't cheat by jumping to the end and look backwards because that won't work. Without the mistakes and wastefulness, there would be no recognition to treasure what's valuable either. Cheating won't work.

Start living your life! Do what you want to do! Don't waste time doing things you don't want to! But tomorrow I have to go to work, and the next day and the next. And in the evenings I will cook and clean and do the washing etc and on the weekend I will take my child to her sports clubs and work in the garden and try to do some home improvements that have been waiting for years for me to have some spare time. None of these things I want to do. I'm not waiting to start living my life, I'm trying to live it now but there always seems to be something more important than my things.
@lauriexwangАй бұрын
I hear you completely, as a parent to a toddler with (more busier social plans than me on the weekend), so much of life as a parent feels like it's filled with commitments and tasks that never seem to end. It can feel like our days are spent taking care of everyone else while our own dreams are on hold. Balancing what "living life" looks like with all the responsibilities we take on is a tough challenge. But even in the midst of it all, finding those small pockets of time for ourselves can make a big difference. Plus kids have this wonderful way of making time stay still and reminding me to be present as they grow so fast. You’re doing your best, and that’s no small thing!

This is very motivating and so very true! Ever since I was born, I've been into music and playing the drums. I've always wanted to do something with music, more specifically to be a session drummer for a band or an artist. I'm almost 30 and that has yet to happen. Fear and doubt have taken hold of my life, and I've passed up the very few opportunities that I've been offered simply because of the fear of saying yes and my routine changing. Now, I'm filled with regret and wonder if my lifelong goal will ever come to fruition.
@lauriexwangАй бұрын
It’s never too late to pursue what lights you up, and I can feel your passion for music in your words. Fear and doubt can be powerful, but they don’t have to define your path. The fact that you’ve always wanted this shows how deeply it resonates with you, and that’s something worth fighting for. It’s okay to take small steps toward your dream, even if it feels overwhelming. You’re allowed to change your routine, to step outside your comfort zone. Your dream is still very much possible, and by facing that fear, you might just find the opportunity you've been waiting for.

I talk to my parents at least once a week. 3.) im getting better at resolving problems in friendships and relationships and focusing on personal responsibility and forgiveness. 4.) I moved far away out of my comfort zone to pursue a life I truly desire. 5.) I ignore people who try to tell me i have to live a certain way... I choose to be single and will NEVER SETTLE. I wish I had learned most of these principles about seven years ago. Many people find themselves stuck in the traditional cycle-go to school, get a job, and work tirelessly without exploring alternative opportunities. Unfortunately, this mindset can cause them to miss out on life-changing financial insights. In 2020, I experimented with the stock market, and the results exceeded my expectations. Now, I'm considering investing an additional $190k in the market. I've heard that some investors are still seeing impressive returns, even with the current downturn. Do you have any recommendations?
@HotManP-l5gАй бұрын
Steer clear of 'too-good-to-be-true' schemes. It's wise to consult a fiduciary advisor, as these professionals are among the most reliable in the industry, providing personalized guidance tailored to a client's risk tolerance. While not all advisors have the best reputation, those with a proven track record can be invaluable.
@FrankJaaayАй бұрын
I've been working closely with a Financial Analyst for about 8 months now. These days, it's tempting to jump into trending stocks, but the real challenge lies in deciding when to sell or hold. That's where my advisor steps in, guiding me on the best entry and exit points in the industries I’m involved in. It’s been a worthwhile decision-I’m up 40% in profits in just 5 months, starting with an initial capital of $160k

In Latin Philosophy the past is an inaccurate memory, and the future is still a dream. Neither are real, but the present is real. The present is what you choose to make of it at this very moment. Today is the beginning of the rest of your beautiful life. Let go of the past and have compassion for those that hurt you and especially for yourself, giving yourself permission to start fresh today. I truly hope you feel better soon that you choose that for yourself as your "first step for living more fully on your own terms".
