#14 Ferguson TVO - Stripping the Zenith 24T carburettor

The original carburettor on the Ferguson TED 20 TVO tractor is damaged. In this video I strip another carburettor which I hope will allow me to build one good carb. I will repair the original carb later, which will be covered in a separate video.

G Day Gordon, Any little carb parts for the 24T can be bought in the UK from a company called Villiers Parts they are very handy for all of butterfly screws etc.

Hi Lance - thanks for the info. I've had a look at their website and it looks good. I think I've managed to 'save' enough to rebuild the first one. I plan to have a go at restoring the second carb as well - in time, for which I will need a few bits. I will need to drill out the jet and then re-tap or helicoil the threads. If that is successful I will continue to restore the whole thing.

Well Gordon, everything seems to be moving along rather nicely. Of course you're going to run into problems, find far more than you first thought, but all in all I'd say it's going rather well.

Hi Malcolm, yes indeed! I remain confident that this tractor is mechanically quite sound. It’s the cosmetics, how it will look that may be more challenging, but we’re a ways off from that yet! 😉. I’m very pleased with progress so far. 👍🏻
