good morning Lance. Regards the float bowl drain. When I was using a TVO/petrol Fergie on my dads farm back in the 70's, I remember when starting first thing (because it was always shut down on TVO), we used it to drain through to petrol when re starting next time the tractor was used.

G Day Ian, We used to turn it back to petrol on the way home so it had petrol for the next start. At least the way you did it there would be no chance of junk building up in the bowl.

After watching this I decided take mine apart for an overhaul since the tractor was running rough. In the float chamber was a champagne cork!

I remember brass floats they can be a pain ! use a bit of coat hanger for the wire that will do you grins

Many thanks for a great video. Got a question, my carb is off a petta a1 stationary engine. The two jets next to the Venturi, mine doesn't have the small jet and the longer one won't budge. Hope you could tell me

If i cant get them out I just make sure they are clean. Sometimes you cant replace them if they get damaged.

Great series Lance. I have now bead blasted my 24T2 and am ready for reassembly. I would like to replace the 4 screws securing the two butterfly disks to their spindles. Where can these be bought? You seem to have used new ones. Thanks.

G day Kurt, The main butterfly screws come with the kit but the choke one you need to use the old ones .

What does it mean if the venturi is stuck on the t24 carburetor? Tractor has been sucking the petrol and we cant see any leaks so looking for reasons why the tractor would be using so much petrol.

Having the venturi stuck is not a big problem, the main jet decides the full open throttle mixture, you might need to close it down a little.

Hello Lance. In my TEA20 when it's warm i have to turn choke for about 25% then engine sounds great. When I turn it off engine stop. What's wrong? Tnx for any help.

Adjust your main jet to let more fuel in and you shouldnt need the choke.

Have you explained how to get the float level correctly. My tractor will start, thanks to what I've learnt from your clips but it will only run for a little while then "runs out of petrol".

The float is not really adjustable, the thick washer from the kit goes under the needle and seat.

Hey Lance. My venturi won’t budge. How do you suggest I get it out? Also, the main jet won’t come all the way out - it screws out fine half ways and the gets stuck. Any tips?

I have had the same and I leave the venturi in and bead blast with it in and it often then comes. The main jet if it comes the first part should come the rest if there is not a burr in it. I have had to drill them out at times, We do have new ones at the shop.

I got a ferguson it tends to cut out after a couple minutes could it be the carburetor not clean enough

Yes or a fuel block. check coil is not getting hot and try replacing the condenser, I have seen faulty ones recently.

@@BundyBearsShed thanks, I am new to this stuff was kind of inherited wanted to get it working, undone the screw on carb where its meant to drain it was full of dirt or something, put air compressor on it and now purrs

Mr Bears my carby is missing the same rod. What function does this rod perform? Can i make my own?

The rod opens the throttle butterfly slightly when the choke is pulled full on. you could make one but they are for sale at our shop or Villiers spares in the UK.

I have just replaced the battery cables, now it won't start, I am not a mechanic, I shall persist and watch more videos, Thanks again

Good News Mr Bears, I replaced the other wires attached to the starter switch and Bingo! off she went. I am now moving on to the leaky PTO, Thank you so much for your videos
