Good review. Could you do a review for vehicle/bike rack brake lights. Practically every time I've driven the vehicle with a Kuat NV 2.0, someone rear ends me. Never had the problem before. Been looking into some way to light up the rear without it being a hazard bumping into it while working with the bikes. Kuat also has a integrated work station that is really hard to use because the bike is heavy and hard to lift because there's no ergonomic lift points. Another problem I have is just getting the bikes up onto the rack. 50 lbs/bike plus the worst ergonomics to grab/pickup somewhere on the bike, would be nice if the racks had a way to lower themselves closer to the ground where you could just roll the bike onto it. Or some grab bars on the bikes. 50 lbs is pushing it for most people to lift a bike onto a rack as it is. Seems like Kuat has a rack ramp I'll have to try out.

I bought a Thule at REI. When it arrived I noticed it was a 1.25" with a 2" adapter. I don't have confidence in the smaller diameter rack so I returned it (did not open the box). Got the 2" Kuat instead.

I've always been a Thule fan but they seem to fall behind...A lot! I got to borrow a Kuat this summer and loved it for the balance and operation. But I am still on the fence on what my next rack will be simply because I have been doing all my riding from home these days. Thanks for the update Francis.

I agree with your overall pick. I've had the 1UP and bought a Piston Pro X a couple years ago because it just seemed better but it was very expensive. This summer I picked up a Piston Pro for my bikes in Jackson Hole and it does everything I want as well as the Pro X for me as I didn't want the lights and as for the Kashima, why? The Pro is perfect for 2-3 bikes and is a decent price compared to the Pro X. GREAT rack!!

I have a question on "best rack/easiest two bike add-on". I have a Yakima Holdup now and the two bike rack lives on my car most of the time. When I need it, I have the two bike add on and I love how easy and quick it is to add the add-on, takes just a few min with one bolt. I was looking at some upgrades but the two bike add on process seems to be a huge pain in the butt on the Thule T2 Pro for example. Any other racks I should look at that are easy on/off for the 2 bike add-on?

I purchased and use the 1UP SD for my e-bike…primarily due to its light weight which makes it easy to take on/off, and to store. I’m fairly happy with it, with the only negative for me is with the arms holding down the tires…could be slightly beefier. I use Voile stretchy polyurethane straps on both wheels which helps.

Great feedback. Yeah those arms are original design from the old days. I've heard about the straps solution as a safety between the two arms to ensure no slippage. How exactly do you use them?

@EMTBReview I simply use the strap around the bottom of tire/rim and the metal tray. Seems more useful for the front wheel as it seems to reduce ability of the front tire to twist in the tray when driving....works for me and my Giant Stance 29. I've also tried a tie down strap with soft loops on both ends...just drapes over top of frame and tighten...that stopped all sway, but I just use the Voile straps around tires now. I know 1UP has a newer beefier version, but I didn't feel like shelling out more $. The light weight is why I stick with this. I enjoy these videos. I'm not a hard core biker...just enjoy getting outdoors.

I just got that same rack for my heavy ebike. The wheel choke from 1up works great. I took it down some moderate offroad trails and it did excellent, great clearance and super steady.

Your top pick is a nice rack but 65 pound limit is a problem. Most fat tire e-bikes weigh more and something you didn’t consider only the Mach 2 can be used on a travel trailer, a,b,or c class RV. It’s hard to find a rack that will hold an 80 lbs e-bike on a travel trailer. Mach 2 by QuikrStuff does it well!!

Have a thule T2 pro xtr. Please tighten the rack to the hitch well and then go drive over some RR tracks with it loaded. Then go home and retighten. you'll get another full turn on the handle.

Man! I had a VELOCIRAX, not veloci"tax" like you said. It's good, but gets on the way of daily life and takes up so much damn space. Sold it and got a piston SR single rack and love it! I use it on my way 4runner pro, hitch mounted, but will get a bed rack soon for my Tacoma OR 4x4 and love the fact that I can mount the SR on the side of my bed rack and carry my bike that way too. I'll be buying another SR to have 2, one on each side on the Taco, or one on my 4runner and one on my Taco at all times for when I don't need 2 racks on the Taco. 🤘🏽

KUAT, THULE, Yakima and the reste of the brands too expensive for Nothing, 1up aluminum ? Yes wonderful But no steady and sure too many stupids models Therefore, SARIS MHS more stable in the process solid compact strong. Plastic part ? Yes and ? sunny states like Colorado blah blah blah blah is bull sh. I have Saris MHS 1 bike Package the best in all terrain. Dude Good job.
