He looked like he was jogging the last 600 meters, especially the last 200, but he was actually flying. Wow, when he learns proper pacing and running form he is going to be a monster.

he was flying the first 200, and slowed down a lot for each progressive 200m if you follow the race progression. The last 100m he was really carrying the bear on his back. He is already a talent and only going to grow! Watch him drop great times in the future!

Lap 1- 53 Lap 2- 64 Young and talented athlete, If he learns to pace better I'm sure he could take at least 5 seconds off that time.

When I was a junior in high school, I was on my teams 4x800m relay team in a big meet to qualify for the state meet. Up until that point, my p.r. was 2:07. But my coach told all of us to take out our legs hard. I was so nervous that I went out in 56 seconds, which was probably almost as fast as I could run a 400m lap all out at that time. My second lap was 70 seconds. I still ran a new p.r. of 2:06, but I was totally dead by the end of that race and I felt horrible.

In the last 800m of his that Flotrack posted, he had splits of 55/65. You'd think low 1:50s is pretty realistic for him already.

The kid has natural talent. He is an easy D1 runner. Watching his form and the way he runs, there is no reason why he cannot go 1:53/1:54 this year and 1:49-1:51 by his senior year. He has good strides and would need to improve his form, breathing, and last 100 meters. His second lap can improve by running regular 200 and 400 repeats in practice and that simply comes with training, weight lifting, and coaching. However, I like his upside...this kid is sensational!!!

lmao he already went 1:51 at the end of his sophmore year, as well as 45.1 in the 400. You cant help but wonder how good he will be his senior year.

WOW, Awesome, that's almost 7 seconds faster than the 14 year old Alisson Ince who took 2.0398 I think. Well done.

That's interesting and exciting. A good friend of mine, now in his 50s, went to Plano schools until 7th grade and was an elite runner. He would not run for the schools back then but I wonder if Simms attends the same middle school (probably not).
