This past year, Martijn, you've taught me patience where I was failing, acknowledgement of where I am succeeding and to receive with humble acceptance when offered help that I genuinly need. I am very grateful. My hope for you and all of your audience is a new year of beautiful and awe inspired insight.

They seem to stimulate an awareness of how I can look at each circumstance as an opportunity to adapt and celebrate the journey. Thank you for the past years and the ones to come.

Beautiful sentiments! If I were just 30 years younger I would love to do what Martijn is doing. (I’m almost 62- with raging osteoarthritis and other chronic pain issues) I get my fill of this by watching all sorts of KZbin channels that renovate old homes/structures. But Martijn is my favorite!! 😊 I pray your new year is happy, healthy and prosperous.
@earthmama8384Ай бұрын
I’m drawn to KZbin videos involving nature & cinematography; unique restorations & renovations of old buildings, particularly stone; natural or holistic building methods and so forth. Though I follow several KZbin channels in this genre, if I could follow only one channel, it would be yours. I’m intrigued by so many things: Your meticulous building skills; the style with which you craft everything from a lean-to to protect your wood supplies, greenhouse to grow plants, the incredibly beautiful stone fireplace & stairs, crafting of furniture; your cinematographic style, design esthetic, drawing & painting skills, to the life you’ve created in the mountains. Your videos are interesting and always peaceful. I gain knowledge from every video. You inspire me to dream of what can be. That is why I’d choose your channel over all others. Thanks for sharing everything with all of us. Blessings to you, Martijn. ~ Elle, Missouri, USA

Happy New Year Martijin!! I have watched your videos from the very start. I never miss a week. I am 69, live on my own in a small village in Nova Scotia. I am renovating a 170 year old house with extremely little experience but luckily with help now and again. You have inspired me on this journey of not only the work you are doing, but of the solitary life. I weave, spin, knit, play violin and piano and have found that living this way suits me. I enjoy being involved in the community but my home is my sanctuary. Stay safe and inspired. All the best to you in 2025!!

For much of the past year your show helped me get through health issues that forced me to rest but now i am getting well enough to care for my own homestead again here in Hawaii. Do a bit and rest a bit - and look after those feet, they keep you upright and balanced. Two plastic dishes from the hardware store with hot then cold water to get your circulation going and a good rub with a rough old towel, and if you can't get down there to rub them - they can rub each other with the towel, because people can paint with their feet, so you can do this.

One of the many gifts that nature offers us is to truly feel alive. I can imagine that the mountains, presently covered with snow and the sharp edge of frost in the air, do just that. What a beautiful scenery. Every episode I watch I am reminded of the conversation you had with two visitors a while ago whereby you asked yourselves; 'what is the purpose?' I gather you meant, what is the purpose of this huge project, all your endeavours to restore these buildings and create something of beauty. The question has stayed with me as I was not able to answer it, but maybe this is what it is; to feel truly alive. It its so lovely to see you work and live in that beautiful landscape. Thank you.

Glad you visited with your family at home. I’m sure that they enjoyed your visit though short , it was needed. None of us getting any younger by leaps and bounds. Speaking for myself when I commend you for fighting the ice for your footfall. The work on the wood shelter as well as a warmup for the chickens was nice to watch. I’m so envious of the source of the wood mill nearby. Always looks top notch. I’m really looking forward to the shingles being applied and glad that you’ve planned in advance for the improvements. Thank you for telling us about your visits to museums. I also agree that the older art eras are my favorites. Monét particularly as well as the others you mentioned. Your travels will certainly help with the inspiration for work and painting. Good for you. Take care on the slippery ice. See ya later.
