Yorkville, Illinois, was founded in 1833 and incorporated in 1836. The town is 40 miles southwest of Chicago. About 21,500 make Yorkville their home here.
In August 2011, the movie Man of Steel was filmed at a house built specifically for the set in Yorkville. It appeared in the movie as the Kent family farm. In the fall of 2014, that house was rebuilt for use on the set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In 2017, the same house was used in Justice League for one small scene, then later demolished.
Actor and comedian Andy Richter is from Yorkville.

It's been a very good autumn for a lot of places this year. We didn't have the drought that other places had and it hasn't been too hot or cold either. The leaves have stayed on the trees a lot longer this year. Glad you came along!

I'm just glad I was able to squeeze two emergency jobs in for a couple of realtors. Had to push it for the one. Owner of the company. She got a last minute chance to put the home in a luxury magazine. I fought with the wind for that one, new client because of it.

Thanks for coming along, Dave. I think that dam is a retrofit of the many dams that were built on the Fox River in the 1800s to power mills. They're being removed to help the river flow naturally and to prevent drownings.

Thanks! It's been windy and cold but I managed to find a calm hour. The Fox River was dammed in lots of towns during the 1800s to power mills. Now they're taking the dames out because they're drowning hazards and they're letting the rivers go back to their natural state. It looks like they replaced the old dam with a safer one here. First one I saw like this.

Hi Christian. Here in NY we just started to see some of the trees turning colors. Looks like you caught the sun at the right time and spot to capture those cool reflections on the river.

Hey Chas, our colors have been really good this year. The golden hour light doesn't show the colors really well here but the colors are lasting a long time. I hope you can get out and fly over your colors too!

Wow what amazing fall colors. My husband and I were supposed to see the fall foliage in Vermont last year, but a case of the cough cough, cancelled the plans. Simply stunning, new friend thanks to Wandering with Watto.
