The chickens are just fine being raised the way they are. I’ve been raised in the city and I know that. If they weren’t happy they wouldn’t be laying eggs like they are and they would be losing feathers and egg shells wouldn’t be as pretty as they are. If you only have criticism comments go elsewhere. Justin and Rebecca are doing what works for them. I have learned so much from them and their KZbin community. They are human after all.

Amen Regina Gibson! I have enjoyed every single video Justin Rhodes ever made and I think it’s because I really respect him as a farmer, entrepreneur, creator, and human. What I don’t enjoy is the recent onslaught of negative comments. I will continue to be a loyal subscriber and watch every video but I am choosing to quit reading the comments. ✌🏼

Rebecca, Get some 3lb coffee cans and cut BOTH ends off. Set the coffee can over the celery. The stalks needs about 4 weeks of no sun. This will give the celery a milder taste. It works very well.😊

I love how you’re saying it has taken you 19 years. Each year I get what my budget allows on starting seeds. Whenever that gets all used up, I get the solo cups. Do I love it? Not really. But it is what I can do and I’d rather grow more of my food and start it in a solo cup than to not grow it at all. And guess what?! I’m almost where I don’t have to do the solo cups anymore. I’m just content with what I can do and each year I’ll keep adding more. My trellis system works the same way. With a large family, I need a lot, but I add a little at a time. And by the end, it will be my happy place and look great!

thanks for retelling the story about how affordable that land was back in the 30's. i can use this as a good example to show people how land is so expensive and wage growth has not kept up with it. i assume 1k a year back in the 30's was pretty low income and someone making minimum wage today has no chance of buying a $500k property

When she said that I was confused but your comment made me realize why. I am in the city and have a small patio garden and a hydroponic tower garden. The celery in it is the best I have ever eaten though it is robust. I just use a few young stalks in my broth and it is fabulous. Now I know why! Thank you for this tip!

How are you able to do a remodel and have a garden? Correct answer is with the help of my lovely hired farm hand. Just saying, from what I have seen she has been a HUGE help. Pepper seeds need for the soil to be a specific temperature. Heat mats help. All of my sweet pepper types sprouted within a week of sitting on top of a heat mat. Those pepper seeds should eventually sprout. Slow process without heat mat. Good Luck and Happy Gardening. Also, Thank you Rebecca for the honesty of telling people to find what works for them. It is good to take in the info people/influencers tell you as inspiration and feedback on products you might be able to afford, but again, everyone must find what works for them.

❤Thank you Rebecca (spelling?) for reminding people that they don’t have to start where your family is at. Solo cups are fine if that’s what you have, etc. Just because your family is using something this year and maybe next, doesn’t mean it’s the only way! Start where you are! More Rebecca, please! Love your excitement for growing things!❤ FYI, I’m using silicone starter pod trays but would love to try soil blocks some day. There’s no order or rule of what you must sprout in. Have fun with it! 🌱

Rebecca, as I understand it celery does best if it is grown in marshy areas. They love water. When you think they have enough, water them again. Because of that they are best grown away from other plants that don't like wet feet. If your celery was too strong tasting they might have been wanting more water. Might want to try more than one variety.

To keep cats off the raised beds lay twiggy branches on the surface so they're about 10 inches deep or stick shorter twiggy pieces in the ground between the plants, as if you were going to use them to support a plant. Close enough together that a cat cannot easily wend it's way through. You could try Lovage instead of celery - it's a perennial herb and you only need a small piece to get the flavour into a dish when cooking.

@jaket89472 ай бұрын
It doesn't, that's an absurdly high guesstimate. Most cut produce will lose 20-30% of it's value by 3 days after harvest and up to around 45% by the time it reaches your local grocer. That's accounting for cross-country trucking of out of season veggies. So, while it's better to grow your own of stuff you eat a lot of, it's also advantageous to either freeze or can because it will retain more nutritional value.
