When you do the final tour when it is finished, you guys should split up. Let Rebecca do the home tour and talk about her choices. Justin can tour the parts related to the homesteading part. Maybe flashback to shots of what each area was before and what it is now. Also, have more wide shots to show the entire room or area. Rebecca has done a great job thinking of what all you need to live comfortably with a big family. Love it!

It is great to see things coming along, it is a long and sometimes discouraging process. While I think it is so wonderful that they are always thinking of how the kids will fit into things, I hope they are able to handle it someday if they don't all want to stick around. Kids need to feel free to spread their wings and try other things as they get older, not feel they are duty-bound to stay at the homestead forever. It seems so far away when they are young, but it happens so quickly. It is never easy as a parent to have the babies leave the nest. We live with our daughter now - we are getting older and she wants us to be able to stay in the house and help us as we age, which is so great. I am a fan of intergenerational living, it's just not everyone's choice. Will say, we are putting in railings where none were before because of aging, so never say never on that big, wide staircase in the front of the house.

Knowing your kids & having both access's i would have enclosed that porch space for a second mudroom and made a bigger deck in front by removing a couple of plant beds. You could cover the porch with a double layer pergola. Top layer polycarbonate and underneath a trellis for plants would keep you dry provide light and give you a more outdoor porch experience with far less cost than the roof was for your existing porch.

With everything so white, and nothing to break up the lines, it’s hard to get a sense of scale and design inside the house, but you definitely have space! I believe decks are an essential part of extending the living space of a home. I have often thought a deck of the master bedroom is the perfect getaway for the adults. Have that first cup of coffee in the mornings, and just survey the land. You have such a view off of the master bedroom! Every time I see the house from a distance….my eye goes to the huge steps leading to the huge deck, with the huge porch roof, and that to me says “front door” Your front door is lost in the design. Although the little alcove is perfect for what you had in mind, keeping you dry as you knock on the door, or fiddle with keys to unlock the door, it just doesn’t have the “I’m here!” Front door look. A small gabled porch design would help bring attention to the front door, and of course a color to the door would also help. But yeah, it was my only observation of the overall design of the house. Really can’t wait to see all the flooring done, cabinets installed, and eventually see the furniture get out into place. After all the moving you have done this past year, having a forever home will feel nice for a change. I do hope it fulfills all your dreams!

And they NEVER had wasps nests, bird nests nor any other insect built in under the ceiling. And we also adapted the idea and never had any problem. Since the insects and birds look in the wavelength and the color matches with the sky it makes scientific sense. Hope this helps explain.
