leave some room to access to panels, it can get pretty annoying when you have to look at them at an awkward angle

I would add that you can put your platform directly on the resource nodes. It makes it easier for the drones to reach the resources and will help avoid that travel time delay. They will mine under the platform so you aren't blocking anything.

My favourite tip Total, is you can right click any item in your inventory and it will let you build that item straight away in world without having to transfer it to a hot bar :)

For tip 10 I tend to split off early items from the bus to send to storage. That includes plates, rods, parts, and components. The balancers allow you to prefer one output over the other, so I send the items down the bus first, then into storage. Having a pool of those early items really speeds up hand crafting until you can get your first mall up and running.

Thanks Total! I have had trouble making the switch from satisfactory to this title and DSP simply because you have to automate everything. Not just the parts, the buildings you make with the parts as well.

Digging under the base... we all are the at some point in time. If I ever start again, i simply build my production floor 4 walls above the ground, so you skip on the digging part.
@KamramBehzad7 ай бұрын
Good points mate. One point from me: The command bars are not limited to 3. That is a setting we can change and add more. I am already using 4 bars. P.S. I'm always put to shame when I see your tidy and beautifully laid out factories. Fantastic.
@groam66667 ай бұрын
Tip: You can use materials that you mine, such as sand, dirt, etc as building blocks (including some constructed goods like concrete). Useful if you dig yourself into a hole or want to create a foundation without using "Building Blocks" (which consume plates and rods). So it's mainly useful for modifying the terrain.

I've started playing Foundry yesterday. With all the incremental item crafting, I started using Storage Containers directly at the end of every production line, but this has become very confusing within the first session. How would you organize those temporary endpoints of the production lines?
@TotalXclipse7 ай бұрын
I always try to move the items to a dedicated storage area, even if it is just temporary. The great thing about techtonica is the terrain is breakable, so you can run items below the factory floor to keep the areas clean without crisscrossing lots of spaghetti belts
@josuahroberts9787 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for this awesome tips video. Now I know how to combine multiple belts into 1 before access to the belt balancing. Do you (or does anyone) have any starting area seeds for flat close nodes etc as I've been spending the majority of the game trying to flatten land and fill inventory with 1000s of dirt blocks lol? I would love the game to have a 'flat starting zone' option in the new game screen.

I do find the current rarity of resources is a serious impediment to fun play. Having to run a kilometre long conveyor through a mountain range to resupply your factory gets boring fast (even using explosives). And whilst the developers promis future tech (vehicles and non-exhausting mining) will solve this problem, it does result in a lot of really boring play in the early game compared to other automation games (especially as your original resources are pretty much needed for initial tech research). So it may pay to explore your world first for these second sources, and then leave for a new planet if the terrain and resource occurrence are a result of a bad random seed.

Is there a easy way to upgrade belts to a faster belt and if you have multiple recipes for like the rods how do you switch between those in a smelter?
@TotalXclipse7 ай бұрын
For changing recipes - use the copy and paste recipe function I mentioned, as for the belt upgrading, unfortunately not
@ScottSampsonUK7 ай бұрын
Yep, you can upgrade/dowbgrade belts, ramps, and splitters just by having a different tier of the item in your hand and hovering over the belt/etc - you'll get the option to just replace a single tile/item or the whole line. (You can also upgrade assemblers the same way)
@mitchdye44317 ай бұрын
If you have level 1 belts and want to replace them with level 2 belts, just place the level 2 belt over the level 1 belt, it will replace ALL the level 1 belts with level 2 belts that you have in inventory. Same goes for buildings
@y2clay147 ай бұрын
@Kaminsod1 You can totally upgrade belts in place, I was so happy when I discovered this. Works the same as Satisfactory, just click the belt you want to upgrade with the higher tier.

I generally dislike voxel games. I was not going to give this game a second look. The I realised it has a procedurally generated world. That is my first wish for Satisfactory. I've had maybe 15 starts in Satisfactory over the years. Know where everything is, all the rare resources, etc. somewhat diminishes the experience. As soon as I found Foundry is procedural I bought it and am already hooked.

@@groam6666 what is like satisfactory other than it's "a factory game"? Far as I can tell... Satisfactory also didn't just come up with anything new but refined from already made games as well.
