Having grown up on peanut farms in NW Florida, I will tell you one thing you got wrong on the Lilliston peanut combine is that the combine did not invert the plants. You had use an inverter to pull the plants from the ground and invert them. They then have to dry out slightly before combining them. Other than upgrades on the size and technology of the machines, peanuts still have to be inverted and combined basically the same way today.

I love those old bolt-on corn harvesters for the tricycle gear tractors. If you stand at the end of a row as they come at you, they look like crazy monsters emerging from the corn.
