Great content. I use my 15 Pro Max with 2 SIMs and I had the work SIM turn on and off automatically at preset times. This worked up to the last sw update. Now I need to select the SIM each time manually hence automation is gone. Apple support confirmed they had changed how it works but could not offer any workaround. Do you know if this feature will be restored or how I could get around manually selecting the desired SIM? Thanks.

I love shortcuts. I have a few challenges for you…. 1. NFC and shortcuts. How to include a 2. KZbin playlist to play upon tapping an NFC tag. 3. Documenting a workout, starting a timer, and playlist. Something like this: Tapping a NFC tag to make it start a 20 minute timer, sending an email or text, making a note in the notes app, starting an exercise playlist on KZbin, setting an alarm to remind yourself to exercise (5 days a work week). Hi Stephen. Really useful. One thing I’m trying to do is turn off silent mode whenever I connect the phone to power. My use case is that when I plug in the phone in the car I’d like to hear notifications and when I unplug it it goes back to silence. So far I found how to unsilence it when connected but not the reverse. Thanks!!!!!

I have a quick question: i have an automation to turn off cellular data when any wifi connects and turn on when any wifi connects - the problem is the fact i have a wireless carplay, so it seems when carplay connects, a wifi is both connected AND disconnected at the same time, and i lose my cellular data.. this also happens even if my carplay is not connected - i.e. if my wife's iphone connects to carplay, mine gets out of the cellular.. i have done an automation related to carplay to try to correct this and give me cellular anyways, but it seems the wifi connection/disconnection of wireless carplay overrides (or it is 'stronger') than carplay automation

True, man! But I believe this is for privacy reasons... The fact is that on Android you don't really have any privacy with apps. When I was using Android, I used the swifkey option a lot. On android you have the option to favorite the clipboard editor and even what you've copied to the clipboard, it's on the keyboard right above the letters. On iOS you can only access the clipboard from there and even then it's not as easy and fast as on android, because you have to access a swiftey menu to get there and as it's nothing new, there's no option to favorite the content of the clipboard!

Hey Stephen. This video is amazing. Thank you so much for this! I have a fairly important question that I haven’t seen anyone asking anywhere. I recently got the iPhone 15. I was quite upset by realising that I can’t turn off the image processing software that changes the picture I take automatically. It is quite frustrating because most of my selfies turn up to be really dull. It’s like the image processing software is turning the warmth down among other settings. Is there any shortcut that enables me to set a predetermined filter? Like rise saturation 10 points, rise warmth by 20 points, etc? Thanks a lot for your effort 🫶🏻

Thank you! So there is a feature that may help. When in the camera app, holding your phone in portrait orientation, swipe up from the middle of the screen. Then the icon that looks like 3 squares in a row, tap that, and you can set a default tone a temperature to your photos that will be applied to everything you capture. Hope that helps!

You can use Shortcuts actions to check when something is playing! But the automation needs either an app open trigger or some other option available on the automations tab. Just playing any media can’t be set as a trigger

I have two networks and I want to switch depending on where I am in my house. The shortcut runs but never switches networks. I deleted the portion of the shortcut that plays music so all that’s in the shortcut is the Network name and Password. Where have I gone wrong?

Yea this isn’t actually possible in Shortcuts. He definitely forgot to add the “Open URLs” action which will use the “url” variable he setup, but it gives an error message 😢

Fantastic! Content, presentation, the whole works. Thank you. I need a shortcut that works as the auto messaging one you presented. It may even be in another one of your videos. However, I would like the option to NOT send the message. The idea being that unless I stop a message from going out every morning at a certain time, the message will be sent. I live alone and would like to compose a message for my friends to check up on me. This will go out unless I stop it in the morning. That way, if I'm in a bad way, for whatever reason, no more than a day will pass by before my friends come and check up on me. Last year, I think I may have gotten covid, and was barely able to get out of bed for a whole month. I'm trying to be proactive. Thanks.

Thanks! If you enable the "Show when Run" in the message action, it should ask for confirmation. Or you can start the whole automation with a "Choose from Menu" Action, make the two options "Send" and "Don't Send", then put the send action only under the "Send option"
