These were brilliant. I'm a complete noob to shortcuts, so these help tremendously in shortening the learning curve. Request: I'm currently having trouble figuring out a particular shortcut I'd like to implement. I want a shortcut to turn on Airplane Mode, and open the Blackmagic Cam app to a particular preset I've already configured in that app.

Love how I can record audio and have it saved and transcribed in notes but it appears if your phone locks then everything is lost. I do believe to avoid this you need to be looking at your phone. I can’t seem to find a command in shortcuts to disable the Lock Screen when I initiate this shortcut.

Set playback destination unfortunately only works with media, like music and podcasts. I haven't been able to get it to work with phone calls.

Zoomed in, I take photographs of KZbin video titles so that I can later look them up when I have time. There may be one or there may be six on the screen at any one time. But I photograph each individually so I can do text recognition then cut ,copy and paste into KZbin. How would you create a shortcut that would help you take the picture then transcribe or text capture the title and copy it into an ongoing note that lists all of the videos you would like to go back and look up? By the way, your audio is great on top of the good content.

Another great vid, not sure why it took me so long to sub to you haha. I've been looking but have you made a shortcut to keep two calendars in sync? Like an exchange calendar that I can only access on one device that I want to have synced with an iCloud calendar I can access on my other devices? I don’t need two way sync back from iCloud to exchange, but when an event gets moved/updated/deleted in exchange, that would need to update in iCloud, not duplicate the event. I could then automate the shortcut to run every hour or something. This would be a game changer for me!

Thank you! So you may be able to start the automation with a "Get contacts" action, then IF the incoming number returns nothing, send the message, otherwise, do nothing. Will try to set that up in the next shortcuts video!

Thank you, great video. Is it possible to create a shortcut that automatically sends a text message reply not to a text message but to phone call? I know there's this option for "while driving," but it doesn't work if I'm not driving. For example, I get a phone call from someone in my contacts, but I'm not near my phone or cannot answer for some reason, the person gets an automatic text reply with some custom message. Thank you!

Your podcast transcript reminded me of a similar idea. Is there a way to use shortcuts to download the transcript of a youtube video? I watch a lot of videos that have book recommendations that I often want to save. I would love to be able to auto pull out these recommendations (maybe some AI needed?) and save them to a note. I've also tried to record the audio of the video playing as a method, but it seems less reliable.

I have a setup that would work. Basically, you set an alarm for a time without a sound. In automations, you have it run when any alarm is going of. If that alarm is for the current hour, the current minute and the label of the alarm is a certain name; It makes a sound, deletes the alarm that went off, adds an hour to the current time and sets an alarm with the label and time.

The auto text responder brings another luxury problem: as I work in IT, I have to sign in into portals and they send me a sms as a 2MFA. So, hooowww can I get that sms send to my email through shortcuts so I don’t need to get my phone for it. So I can just copy paste from my email client. Regarding the STOP shortcut. I believe this could be detrimental unless you know whoever is spamming you is not a scammer fishing for numbers in which case if you reply STOP you are actually confirming number is live. (No idea if this is the case, this is what I believe! :D)

I’ve actually heard this too and was a bit concerned when I saw this. Normally I just delete. I think what you could do with this though, is use similar shortcut to notify you of text from services that are not in your contacts when you set messages notifications for only known contacts.
