This idea of blaming stampede deaths on poverty and political governance is extremely shallow. A stampede isn't necessarily always as a result of bad planning. If there's a large crowd and all of a sudden a surge in movement, for example from a group trying to get away from something, it will happen and no one will be able to do anything about it. If it's related to poverty, why then does it happen at concerts where people pay good money to attend? A recent case in point was at the Astroworld Festival in Houston.
