I think Slayer was a one hit wonder with the song master of puppets, honestly only true fans have even heard madhouse from the album symphony of destruction

I imagine being a one hit wonder is worse than never getting recognized, because you have to deal with living in your own shadow and knowing that you peaked only once, that you lucked out and couldn’t capitalize on it

Blind melon is not a one hit wonder, change is also a top song of theirs but their album soup is amazing. One of the most interesting albums I’ve ever heard.

No way drowning pool is "one hit wonder", sinner is a great album and was certified platinun.

Most of those sound alike, this sort of "pop-punk-hard rock-early 2000s" sound or the "I really like Eddie Vedder and I want to sing like him" sound

I don't think Drowning Pool should count as a one hit wonder.

So you're telling me Ram Jam's "Black Betty" is not considered a one-hit wonder?

Definition of One Hit Wonders from Wikipedia: "A one-hit wonder is any entity that achieves mainstream popularity, often for only one piece of work, and becomes known among the general public solely for that momentary success." This doesn't mean they didn't have other hits or weren't great bands. This only means that if you go up to 50 random people, most of them will only know one song from these bands.

Drowning Pool had “Tear Away” as well as “Bodies” so I wouldn’t call them a one hit wonder

Seeing Marcys Playground on here hurt being a huge fan of them. It’s hard for me to fathom them being a one hit wonder when they genuinely have some fantastic tracks
