After watching this video, I immediately could enjoy the taste of this pie, because my mother had made some custard which was already chilling in the refrigerator, so I just took a big dollop of it, put some sliced bananas and some digestives toasted in a lil bit of butter on top of it and I was so glad that I didn't have to go through even this little bit of effort to enjoy a super delicious dessert!

Hi Gemma, I am very excited about this recipe! I have to confess that I have never had a banana cream pie! I know! I really want to try this recipe, I'm a bit worried about making my own pudding. I've never been lucky with making pudding, Please Don't Judge I'm talking about pudding from the box!😲 when I was growing up I thought that was making your own pudding. ( Yes, I am hanging my head in shame). I agree with you that cookies are the best crust for pies like this! I do love bananas. I do trust you implicitly so I am going to give this a go! I'm not sure I will be successful the first time, but if at first you don't succeed try try again.🤗 thank you Gemma, because you make me feel that I can do these things. You also help me because I have always had this fear or idea in my head that if something did you come out as a success it was going to be some sort of horrible disaster or that I would be letting everyone down. Even if no one knew I was making something. I've had that feeling since I was a young girl and I baked with my mom. I'm slowly getting better at it. I really think that you are the one that's helping me. Sorry to get mushy! Thanks for all the hard work you do for us.❤👩‍🍳💚

I made it 3 hours ago. The custard was mostly white and I don't think it's setting any time soon. The custard tastes great, so hopefully it will set and my family would like it.

Hi Gemma nail colour gorgeous as usual. Pie looks yum but just wondered if the bottom bananas go brown by the time you cut it. I would use a new banana for decoration, as I was serving it but would feel sick to see brown banana underneath?

Best to add the banana on the top right before serving to keep it's color. The same with the whipped cream. The bananas inside would not go brown as fast as it is not exposed to the air.
