Yoga can be a great tool for runners to help prevent injury, release tension, increase mobility and gain strength.
This 15 minute yoga practice will focus on strengthening the body, primarily the core.
Equipment Needed:
Exercise Mat
A strong core provides stability and balance, which are crucial for maintaining proper running form. It helps to stabilize the pelvis and spine, preventing excessive movement and reducing the risk of injuries, such as lower back pain or hip issues.
The core also acts as a solid foundation, allowing for efficient transfer of energy from the upper body to the lower body during each stride. Therefore a strong core can improve running economy and overall performance by minimizing energy wastage and maximizing power output.
