An easy and fast method to make clotted cream with one component that will change your life forever only on my channel. The result will surprise you!
Add heavy cream in a deep dish that is safe for the microwave. Put the dish in the microwave and cover it with this kind of cover shown in the video. Cook it for 3-5 minutes. Take it out of the microwave and look if the cream is thick if not put it back in the microwave for another 3-5 minutes covered. Again take it out and check if the cream is thick. Repeat the steps until the cream is thick but it should be juggling a little. Leave it on the counter to cool completely then put back in the microwave.
PLEASE be careful the dish will be very hot and PLEASE read all the comments below the video and people's experiences. Each microwave is different and Each dish size is different and Each cream thickness is different. So the time will be different from person to person and place to place.
Notes:
- Clotted cream in the microwave depends on the size of the container, amount of the cream and most importantly the power of the microwave
- The lid is first to protect the microwave from cream splash and secondly the steam is allowed out! If you can't find like the one I am using, you can use any cover but don't cover it completely!
I have used Kenmore microwave with 1000w
Method#5 and only one ingredients ultra posturized whipping cream

I made this last night and let it sit in the fridge overnight. This morning it's absolutely delicious! And so easy. I will use this method from now on. Everyone just needs to watch their cream to find the "done" spot. Once you see it you'll know. Mine took longer than the video but you have to wait for it to thicken or it won't be right. It's just like anything else in the kitchen. So many things in the environment affect what you are cooking. Also obviously it's very hot and bubbly coming out the microwave so be careful. Thank you so much for putting this video out there. Just wonderful!! ❤️

@@rhondasneed4683 If you didn't try it already, it would depend on your cream but it stays relatively white. You do get some of that caramelized flavour, though, and bonus is no liquid at the bottom of the dish. As microwaves excel at evaporation you are only left with creamy goodness. Let it cool completely on the counter before you cover it and put it in the fridge for about 8 hours. I'm making this again this coming weekend for a baby shower with a High Tea theme! Yum!

I saw your video a couple of days ago and decided to try it last night. As it happens, I have the exact Corning white casserole dish And the microwave cover! One pint of ultra pasteurized cream, two 3 minute zaps plus three 2 minute zaps and the consistency was perfect. (I have a 1200 watt microwave). I let it cool on the counter for an hour or two, covered it with plastic wrap and put it into the refrigerator. When I checked it a couple of hours later, I noticed some condensation on the plastic wrap and wiped it off. This morning I toasted some English muffins, loaded them with my clotted cream and some lemon curd I made (another microwave recipe that is a winner!) and enjoyed the most delicious, heavenly breakfast ever! Thank you for a fabulous, easy and awesome recipe for clotted cream.

I’ve made your microwave method at least half a dozen times now, and it has been perfection each and every time (even when the cover fell into the bowl). It’s delicious on my ginger and orange scones and with my homemade strawberry jam. Some batches are a little different than others depending on how long I allow it to cook, and how long I let it set in the refrigerator before scooping it into a jar. I am happy with all thicknesses so I just let it do it’s thing. Thank you so much!

Fantastic recipe. I have an 800w microwave so gave the cream 4x5 minute bursts, gently shaking and then resting between each cook. Then put in the fridge once cold. Result is absolutely wonderful, and as a Devon (UK) bred guy, I can attest that this is the nearest thing you will get to genuine clotted cream in Australia. I used 600g of Browne's whipping cream. What this recipe will settle is the cream/jam first argument as the resulting cream is so thick it would be impossible to spread on top of jam - the jam will just squirt everywhere.

Thank you so much for your lovely comment, feedback and explanation. I am glad you liked the recipe. Glad you explained the steps for those who it doesn't work with them. Having tried this recipe, I would say that the conventional 12 hour method of cooking clotted cream gives a creamier and lighter taste, this method gives a denser, slightly stronger and cooked taste to the cream. In the original , slow cooked method, the natural sugars in the cream are caramelised in a more subtle way, the fast microwave method gives a flavor similar to a ricotta. To each their own, but I prefer the 12 hour method frankly 😁
@Tasty-Dishes

I have many methods and each one has it is own taste, texture and way but all of them somehow taste the same ! So you can choose whatever is convenient for you! Some people don't want to be left with leftover milk that yield in the bottom beside there is nothing wrong with ricotta flavor :) Check this link for all my clotted cream methods! I am stunned! I had no idea this would be possible. I’ve always wanted to make my own clotted cream but the “8-10-12 hours in a low oven” always put me off. Next idea was to do the slow cooker, but I’d not tried that either because even that seems like a bit much, having to get it all out and deal with it. But microwaving it? That’s so brilliant! And you had virtually no whey leftover. Terrific video. Thank you!

I picked the wrong day to do this though. 😂 I have my yearly wellness checkup tomorrow. Oh well, I'll ignore the extra pounds on the scale for the scones and clotted cream. Here is my update. Absolutely, brilliant! I love them all. I did the 12 he method, crockpot method and microwave method. The 12 he oven and crockpot method tasted the same. Beautiful clotted cream that tastes like a rich creamy sweet butter with whey leftover to make scones with. The crockpot method was way easier and took less than 12 hrs. The microwave method was wondering and produced a beautiful velvety creamy clotted cream with no whay left. They taste is slightly richer cream taste because of the whay with a slighter sweet cream butter taste. You definitely taste the whey which is perfectly fine with me it adds a richness and earthiness to the taste. The flavor It puts me in the mind of fresh whole milk that has not yet been separated or pasteurized. Milk straight from the cow and ice cold. I'm a country farm/ranch girl. I love milk straight from the cow. When you dress out your scone with each of them separately you can't tell any difference in taste whatsoever. All delicious. All fantastic. I will never do the 12 hr. Oven method again but I will do the crockpot method for larger batches that I may want to freeze and definitely, the microwave method because I don't like waiting long. I can see myself doing the microwave method most of the time. Haha Thanks for the recipe. I love it!

Hello! I just tried this tonight with Horizon Heavy Cream in a pyrex glass container: 2 minute increments, just stirring in between until the cream stopped bubbling, total of ten minutes. The last two minutes I had to keep watch to make sure it wasn’t over heating it, so I stopped the microwave when it bubbled up to let it settle until it reached the last two minutes. The consistency became thicker, and the milk turned slightly yellow, as if some fat was separating but not completely. Smelled like melted mozzarella cheese. It is now cooling in room temperature before I cover and pop in the fridge! I hope it turns out well! Cant wait for tomorrow! Thank you for the video! (My microwave is 1700 watts, explains why I didn’t need to do full 15 minutes and in shorter increments)

The skin on top of your clotted cream is a tad too thick and dry (as indicated in your first spoonful). I would scrape it off and set it aside, it's still edible it will just have an odd texture when you eat it. The clotted cream itself looks to be a nice consistency.

Hello there, it is easy and not that complicated.
