I'm happy for number two. Seriously, I remember back when I played MGS2 when I was around the age of 10. The final part with the Colonel and Rose legitimately creeped me out with the zoom ins, the x rays, the distorted voice, Rose's eyes rolling in the back of her head, and the game telling me to turn it off. I never thought the first game to do that would be a stealth game.

Really? No Spec Ops: The Line? The entire time you play through the game, it hurls accusations at the player for the things that happen in the game, blaming them for every death and tragedy that happens. It also questions the player's sense of morality, ridiculing you for playing too many shooter games and suggesting that you have a hero complex. It even tells you outright to stop playing the game if you don't want things to get any worse.

While I'd agree with this, it's also very forced, the 'feel bad' of Spec Ops: -The Line- is... the really heavy scene that plunges Walker's downward spiral is forced to happen, no matter what you try to do. You can't advance onward in the game without doing the worst choice in the game (I'm being vague to not spoil) and then afterwards the game continuously tries to beat you up for doing something you had literally no choice in doing. While the narrative itself is _amazing,_ I feel like it didn't really mess with the player as much as it did its own characters. Which is fine. You're basically playing a book that allows you to gib people and remove their heads from existence with high-caliber weaponry. Personally, I wish more games took ideas like this. I haven't been as glued to a screen as I was with Spec Ops.

The absolute best example of this is a game for Sega Dreamcast called "Omicron the nomad soul" *spoilers. .At the start you are a cop who sees a dimensional portal open up and monsters come out . You have the "option" / are asked "send your soul to Omikron?" So you say yes and start the game. Only latter the evil boss tells you that, yes you are playing a game, but it is a game designed to lure souls from our dimension, because they are less tainted or whatever. BEST hook ever. smashes the 4th wall. the only way to get YOUR soul back is to beat the game. brilliant!(+David Bowie did the score& several original tunes.). P

Endings that made me surpass reality: - Mass Effect 3 Indoctrination Theory (before the Director's Ending DLC). - Quantum Break, as it uses real Quantum Physics and time equations based on the Novikov self-consistency principle. - Digimon Digital Card Battle when the boss hacks the Digital World you're in to have a cheat deck (I was like 8 at the time). That summery of Eternal Darkness did not do it justice. That game did a lot more than just fake crash, it also messed with the volume and the story, had the character's head randomly explode yet didn't call a game over and actually allowed you to continue playing without a head, and you didn't even mention the sanity metre.

the last one has been done in many games, its basically making it look like characters in the game know that they are in a game... a big example of this is Sunset Overdrive, sometimes a character moght be with you somewhere then suddenly appear back in their normal spot and when you go there they ask how they got there, or while two characters and the player are talking they question how they are comunicating without phones and the person you control just says "Video game magic" or somethinf like that

The ending was messed up! *major spoilers!* The boss was looking at us and said "You are the one who controles these heroes..." and he restarted the game and made you delete your save file, only for the heros to step in and help YOU, the player, realize it's ok you control them and they need your help to defeat the boss. The Sorrow did make me feel like a monster when I saw the amount of people on that walk. It actually made me consider that during every play through after the first time I played it. You don't have to consume a death pill to end the walk though. You can get out of it a lot sooner than usual if you do but you can just keep walking to the end and The Sorrow will kill you then you can consume the revive pill

You got the one for The Sorrow wrong. In fact, getting to the end (which takes less time the fewer you killed) and being KO'd by The Sorrow rather than dying in the middle gives you his camo. The Death Pill locks that out. You win with the *Revival* Pill, which is the antidote normally.
