I absolutely looove your hair - all of it - from beginning your locs up until this very day! I love it. I have had several sets of locs, but watching you, Im inspired to do what you did. I love this!

You can use a soft bristle brush to brush your hair gently once a week. That helps to release lint before it settles into the loc.

😳 I think I'll pass on that until my hair locs a bit more. seems like it would cause a lot of extra frizz. lol

Oil in the hair is a big reason for lint pick up to! They are coming along so beautifully!💜💜

Yes I’ve been told. But in my case I honestly know thats not the reason.

Your hair is gorgeous. I have a retightening this week and I am looking forward to it. I have not had lint build up in the two years with Sisterlocks. I wash my hair often, at least every two weeks. I enjoyed the video very much.

hi, yeah so I have two locs that I interlocked and they don't have lint at all. I just think its from not washing enough and not being interlocked on the ends.

I love the way your locs are progressing. Your parts are clean as well. I used to have that same problem with my locs as well. They would get really frizzy and bumpy after a retwist. I eventually did my research and I figured out that palm rolling all the way down the shaft of the loc really help smooth out the problem for me. Then once they are fully locd you won’t have the problem. I hope that helps you with ur lumps and bumps too. Love your hair it’s really pretty 😍

I think you're right on the hair color product. My mother has been using itclos to 30 years because she says it's the least damaging next to a Henna.

You could try using a cellophane rinse that matches your hair color all over on your hair in between reties or in between using your regular permanent color for your gray. Cellophanes won’t hurt using regular dye or vice versa. Even though a cellophane rinse isn’t permanent color, it should cover lint and follicles just fine and you won’t have to worry about picking quite as much. I used to get clear cellophanes many years ago before I started to gray and it left my hair very shiny and healthy looking. Another KZbinr (I’m sorry, I can’t remember her name) lightly brushed her microlocs to control lint. I wonder if one of those soft bristle brushes would be okay. I just started watching and subscribing to loc videos as I plan to have them installed later this year or next year. Your hair is gorgeous. I wish that I had installed locs vs big chopping my natural hair last year. My hair was mid back length and I just got tired of the natural haircare maintenance at that length. It was just before covid hit and I was already burned out from trying to maintain my hair with long work hours and dealing with life stress, etc. I didn’t know microlocs existed that would look like my natural hair. They would’ve been the perfect fix.

I heard picking your locs for lint will eventually cause long-term damage, like thinning...I was told it’s best to always keep your locs wrapped up when home, leave the lint alone, and do not disrupt the loc...just dye your hair all over to blend it in, if lint becomes an issue. BTW your locs are gorgeous, I have traditional locs!

Surface lint is ok to pick off but digging for lint can cause some serious issues in the future.

hi, I'm not "unlocking" my hair, I'm picking the locs that haven't fully loc'd yet and it is on the surface...

@@mstanish1 i know this video is old but I'm seriously considering locking my hair and I am wondering how you keep your hair from frizzing. I want mine to look as close to yours as possible, it is so beautiful and neat.

Your hair is beautiful! But if the loctitian that you go to is a sisterlock consultant it is their job to keep the grid in place even though you have micro locks you should still be able to keep your grid in place with whoever tightening your hair

Tanish your locs are 🔥 and progressing nicely. Also do you think that by using oil, even sparingly, on your locs that it is aiding in attracting lint?
@mstanish1
@mstanish1 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I actually truly don't think its the oil. I only use oil after my wash and I don't wash often. I actually think if I washed more often it will reduce the lint buildup. But we will see... 😩

hi, I'm actually not sure. Maybe 1/4 of an inch or smaller. I actually don't recommend really small locs... they will pop off eventually.
