In the airport, a lady with a really bad wig murmured under her breath "thug" as she walked by me.

People with bad hair and weird looking extensions/wigs/weaves are usually the first to have an opinion. It is ridiculous! 😂😂😂

I understand you totally. Even when I got married and got pregnant, I got that "why is a child pregnant look" so much that someone actually walked up to me to ask me why I was disobedient and got pregnant as a child. I was dumbfounded that day. Even now with my child, they just see me as a clueless child with a child . Its so so annoying

Hi Lilian, I know exactly how you feel. Peoples reaction bothers me sometimes, too. I look a lot younger (~15 years) and get treated as such. It gets in the way of work and advancing and in day to day life. I intentionally grew out my grey hair recently to get people to realize. Nothing changed though. They still see a young face. They probably think I am just being trendy - young people dying their hair grey. I love, love, love your locs! I had sisterlocks for 15 years and after a 5 year break started over with small semi-semi free form (yes, twice for the semi).

Wow! I can imagine. My mum keeps telling me to gain some weight so that I'll look older.😂😂 I appreciate you sharing your experience.🤗🤗🤗 I understand the emphasis on semi.😂😂 Thank you so much dear. 😊😊😘😘😍😍

I know exactly what you mean about being treated rudely because you’re mistaken for a younger lady than your age. That’s exactly how I’ve always be treated, even standing next to my over twenty years old daughter. Just be yourself. Thank you for always being you and for sharing your loc journey💗

I am so grateful I came across your channel. I had starter locs with twist, very thin because I have thin hair strands. I was at the brink of taking them down and just going back to braids and the like because I couldn't go outside with my very, very thin twists. Now 5 days into my Lilian Okibe locs my hair is budding(I never thought it was possible in such a short period of time but it most definitely is budding). Almost gave up on locs, thank you so much❤

Blessings! Do You have hard water in Your area? I am unable to wash as frequently due to exceptionally hard high minerals content in Texas water! When I do wash it's with distilled water!

What care or separating do you do after wetting your hair in the shower daily? Anything?
@LilianOkibe2 жыл бұрын
I wet my hair every other day. I don't have a routine that I do when it comes to separating every time I wet but I'll "retwist" randomly with my method every now and then when I think my locs are merging excessively.❤️❤️❤️
@Doc_McStuffins2 жыл бұрын
@@LilianOkibe thank you! Good to know the merging and marrying doesn't just happen like ::snap:: that as soon as water hits. I'm only a couple weeks in so I'll be trying things out. Tfs
@LilianOkibe2 жыл бұрын
It feels like that lol. I know that I was afraid of wetting without separating when I first started doing this but I have realized that you have some time before you get to the point of no return. You just need to be gentle when you finally separate.❤️❤️
