Yea but the gameplay will be shallow af. Those beautiful and expensive games will likely be marketed to casuals. More walking simulatiors essentially with a heavy emphasis on a boring story. Realism at what cost?

I remember playing Halo CE back in 2001 and thinking that we had hit the peak of graphics. I was blown away by it, truly. At that time, Halo was the best looking game I'd ever seen and probably was. It was more than just an amazing looking game though, it had an outstanding campaign and the gameplay was just so good. Many games released today look jaw dropping graphically speaking but the parts that really matter are trash. Life like graphics dont make a game good, its gameplay.

I was 11 or 12 when the original PlayStation was released. My dad surprised me with one a month after it came out. I set it up and the very 1st game I owned and played was "Twisted Metal". I was FLOORED by the graphics. Growing up with the original Nintendo, then the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo, I couldn't believe how much more advanced the PS1 was. I remember thinking back then that one day video game graphics were going to look like real life. Every new system generation brought us closer and closer to that day. You nailed it. While UE5 is obviously amazing, the biggest issue I have with games is AI and the lack of "smoothness" still. It's very hard to make an FPS feel cinematic the way they do in the gameplay trailers, especially with a controller. IRL, gameplay is always kind of chunky and unflattering by comparison. Everything, including the player, moves at a constant speed like it's gliding, there's no friction or bounce. No variability. And AI really needs to be improved. Most modern games look really cool but the enemies and NPCs behave like they did in games 10+ years ago.
@suicidesquadie7990
@suicidesquadie7990 Жыл бұрын
@@nonfungiblemushroom You think you want good AI, but the second you have to deal with it your going to be so mad and probably lower the difficulty. I want better AI, but I also don't want the AI to bend it up in me at the same time. Game still needs to be fun. More importantly the directional audio in most games that it matters in is DOGSHIET. Nothing worse than hearing something dangerous coming and not being able to really tell where it is coming from. Graphics are great, next breakthrough is in sound, and so many people won't even know it because graphics=good.

Idk about you guys but I didn't know there will be any new STALKER game at all.. I remember the old days tech demos for "Clear Sky" and how atmospheric and thrilling the gameply was so..I am pretty excited for the new one !

I've bummed myself out about The Day Before at this point. Based on what I've seen/read up on, the developers have had a tendency to leave or abandon their games as half finished, and buggy messes. I hope they've switched up their style, but I'll definitely be waiting for some solid gameplay and reviews before I try it out.

It shouldn’t even be on this list or considered a game at this point, they are asking indie devs & modders to work on the game for free 😅 complete joke

I think a lot of video game companies should go back through retro games from the 1990s and see the uniqueness in them. We had so many good games that could be either remastered or be given new titles but with the same gameplay stuff. After a while the action adventure and first-person shooter games get old.

@@RealHomeRecording I totally agree!! I’m so sick of all the fps and fantasy and zombie and medieval games, that’s literally all they make these days and I hate it.

that's because the people who make games are committees, run by informed financial decisions. it's worse than anyone suspects though. in the old days, people could program a function on one line, without having to compulsively make it object oriented, so that one simple function is spread over four documents, and they will fight you to the teeth to defend their more organised way of doing things even though they are basically fing useless.

I want to get point and click games like Broken Sword with great graphics. More experiences like Shenmue was when it game out. Why Red Dead Redemption was best game also. And Detroit Become Human might have been most interesting game I played in recent years.

Idk, I really liked the simplicity of Senua 1, it was refreshing, very straightforward game. I would love more combat options and enemy types, but what I don't want is RPG elements. If 2 is "big" enough, a map might be ok, but that's it. I don't want to be spending time looking at clothing, potions and abilities, that's what made the first one great. I could just experience the story, interspersed with good puzzles and combat

That would be really unfortunate. One of my biggest gripe with current gaming is adding RPG mechanics to everything.

I will say, even with graphics improving, I hope we still stick to creative aesthetics here and there and not just realism. I greatly enjoy shooters and racing sims, however indie developers have made some of the most beautiful and fun games I have ever played in my some 20 years of gaming. I'd like to see that carry on with fidelity into the next generation of UHD gaming. UE5 looks great for bringing tons of life into smaller projects.

I wish there were more big games with unique art style. Indie games are cool, but budget usually allows only good 2D games.

You should do a rarest video games from different console generations. NES, PS1, PS2 etc. Maybe some game play a little bit of info about each game. Why it's rare, how much it can go for etc.

I hope that destructible environments is gonna be more of a thing where it can be applied. I remember back when Gears 3 was announced they were saying you were gonna be able to blow up walls to get to opponents on the other side and that would've been awesome but they didn't implement it into the game. I was super disappointed.
