@@TestifyApologetics The prophet we follow is the one who told us to feed the poor, spread peace, and pray at night while people are asleep… We do good by following the example of the prophet and we keep rancor, envy, and hatred away from our hearts because the prophet wished good for those around him and had a pure heart… The people of Quraysh used to worship idols, commit indecencies, and oppress people. The people of Quraysh and their customs are also found in non-Islamic sources, so Allah sent our master Muhammad to bring people out of darkness into light… Allah sent him the revelation through Gabriel, peace be upon him… He endured a lot to spread Islam and endured all kinds of psychological and physical harm and everything, and in the end people say about him that he was not a prophet!!! Just because they do not know his true personality and do not know anything about religion… They judge religion through their wrong understanding of some verses and do not want to search for the truth… The Quran that I read in my prayers at night when no one sees me, and I pray for hours to Allah because I love the One who created me and I feel very close to Him during prayer and remembrance of Allah, and I cry from the intensity of humility when reciting the verses …And because the Arabic language is the most eloquent language, when you learn it, it becomes easier to understand the Quran.. The hand of God is not the hand in the literal sense.. The hand of God is an expression used in religious contexts to refer to God’s power or strength, and is linked to the idea that God intervenes in events and influences them with His absolute power. In Islam, this expression is used metaphorically, not literally, to indicate God’s power and greatness in creation and management. “The face of God” is an expression used in the Holy Quran and in the hadiths to refer to God’s essence or as a metaphor for His pleasure and seeking His satisfaction. In other words, it means that actions should be purely for the sake of God, that is, to please Him and not for showing off or seeking praise from people. In Islam, “the face of God” is not understood in a physical sense, but rather as a metaphorical expression that reflects God’s greatness and perfection….. I hope that some things have become clear for you…

Not just Jesus of the Bible, but of reality, and of history. Thats a big thing. Lots of people can make stuff up and say 'trust me bro', but we believe in a person who existed, in a living tradition with a historical record and a creed passed down from the earlist Christians. Our trust corresponds with reality, common sense, probabilities, and evidence.

Yes, the David Wood polemics approach against islam the greatest effectiveness to lead them out of islams and hopefully into the body of christ. It is so common for church hurt and cult mental & physical abuse to lead away from the true lamb of God. A great metric to a cult is information control and the cherry on top is the cornerstone of all cults and false religions are a charismatic figure. Yes Jesus Christ was not only is the most charismatic and most effective in changing our world in the span of 2k years is indisputablely, unequivocally Jesus the christ what sets him apart is the intentions of not seeking personal wealth, s3x or power. Now contrast the character with Jesus of Nazareth the most attested to figure of antiquity is Jesus and compared to anyone else in the history of the world alone it is a knock out argument for and against any claim to a prophet status.

Both Islam and Mormonism fall under the anathema given through the Apostle Paul for a different gospel coming from a false teacher or even an angel from heaven: Galatians 1: 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

@@khann844 no. Not misquoting at all. Paul's instructions to the Galatians were not simply meant for that congregation but for us down even to this day. If any supposed Apostle or angel from heaven brings a different gospel other than what the Lord Jesus Christ and the apostles gave in the first century, that person or Angel is under the anathema. Since the aim of your religion is to ultimately undergo exaltation unto godhood and have a harem of goddess wives to produce Spirit children to populate a planet that you will oversee one day as a god... it's not a stretch to say that Mormonism contradicts the Bible. This is expressly clear because the desire to become a God is the very thing that came out of Satan's mouth as a temptation to Adam and Eve that brought sin, death, disease, destruction and separation between humanity and God into the earth. Definitely check out Isaiah 43:10. Also, this is a good resource mit.irr.org/contradictions-between-book-of-mormon-and-bible

That is correct. However, the Muslims would say that it is true that you cannot preach the Gospel (given by God to Christians through Jesus) differently, but the Quran that is given to Muslims by God through the Prophet is not the Gospel. They would also say (not based on any scripture of theirs but actually contradicting it) that the current Gospel that we have has been corrupted so we are looking at the "different" Gospel about which Paul warns us. And that the Quran is "perfectly preserved" so that is the only reliable source. See, if anything in the Bible supports the Muslim interpretation, it is true. The parts where the Bible contradicts Muslim claims are corrupt.

It's an authentic retelling of the Gospels, and Dallas Jenkins and his team worked with the Mormons on the show by using their period set pieces for Jerusalem and other locations. There was initially some worry because of the involvement of the Mormons, but a whole ton of Mormons who have been working side by side with The Chosen's team have truly come to Christ during the making of the show, and it's still happening.

Both religions also reject Paul's teachings of sanctification by grace and faith and both teach good works. But this to me as an ex-Mormon with a sister in Islam, is more an effort of discrediting Paul as he predicted the advent of Islam and Mormonism in Galatians 1:8-9: 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

I'm so glad you're making these videos with the eerie "coincidences" between Mormonism & Islam - externally they seem SO different, but they are intrinsically very similar! While most people would not easily connect the similar, nearly identical way that women are treated as second class citizens, beneath the dignity and importance of men, yet that is what both of these religions do. I think, out of all the religions, the only one that puts woman to the highest dignity and importance is Catholicism. Our Lady, Queen of Heaven and earth, pray for us!

It is the fulfillment of the 150 Davidic Psalms(the Psalter of David) that has always been prayed by Old Testament Israel, post-Temple Jews, and by Christians for personal prayer, communal prayer, lamentations, praise, thanksgiving, and, in the case of Christians, to demonstrate the fulfilment of prophecy. The reason why the rosary is so powerful is because every component of it comes from heaven. The Our Father was taught by Jesus and the “Hail Mary, full of grace” etc was said by Angel Gabriel the other lines come from the bible (Luke 1:28, 1:42, 1:43 & James 5:16). It is prayed during exorcisms and also as a form of self-exorcism -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Lady explains the Hail Mary to Saint Mechtilde of Helfta (1241-1298): “My daughter, I want you to know that no one can please me more than by saying Rosary. The salutation which the Most Adorable Trinity sent to me, and by which He raised me to the dignity of Mother of God. By the word 'Ave' (which is the name Eve, Eva), I learned that in His infinite power God had preserved me from all sin and its misery, which the first woman had brought upon herself. The name ‘Mary’ which means ‘Lady of Light’ shows that God has filled me with wisdom and light, like a shining star, to light up Heaven and Earth. The words ‘full of grace’ remind me that the Holy Spirit has showered so many graces upon me that I am able to give these graces in abundance to those who ask for them through me as Mediatrix. When people say the ‘Lord is with thee,’ they give to me again the indescribable joy that I received when the Eternal Word became incarnate in my womb. When you say to me ‘blessed art thou among women,’ I praise Almighty God’s Divine mercy which raised me to this exalted level of happiness. And at the words, ‘blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus,’ the whole of Heaven rejoices with me to see my Son Jesus Christ adored and glorified for having saved mankind.”

Catholicism also has been accused of pagan mixing within the religion. This has been well documented. I’m not Catholic but love the faith and learning about it. I’m just wondering how you reconcile this along with pulling the mixing the pagan elements within the other faiths? If I remember correctly, it may not be in context, but isn’t there something in the Bible that talks about heaven and earth becoming one. Would that mean heavenly teachings and pagan, being earthly, becoming one? A peace between them? A mixing of them?

The Greek and Roman worlds of that era were heavily logic based and the 'pagan mixing' that the church gets accused of is the natural way to speak the language of logical peoples in order to get them to understand the Gospel. But protestants with zero historical education cuz 'all you need is the Bible' never understand that nuance. To them, God just miracled the KJV to an already Christian world in the 1500s, don't ask questions about how things got to that point.

Amen! Excellent presentation. One of the things heavy on my mind for two years before my LDS mental shelf finally collapsed was the fact that Joseph Smith had married the young Partridge sisters behind Emma's back. Our scriptures made it clear that asking the first wife for consent is necessary to prevent it from being adultery (D&C 132.61-62), even though there's an easy loopehole if she says no (132.65). There was no way around that one.

I am Catholic. Your underlying assumption is wrong. Nothing that the Church teaches has "never been seen before" or conflicts with existing teaching. In fact, the whole point of defining dogma is to make clear the answers to questions that people have had about the thing believed. For example, while the general belief that Mary was assumed directly into heaven was always common among Christians (excluding Protestants), exactly how this could be so needed to be made clear lest the belief be thought groundless the way Protestants claim.

As a Muslim scholar, I respectfully disagree with several claims made against Islam in this video transcript. I will address the key points regarding Islam while maintaining a tone of academic discourse and mutual respect: The "Phantom Prophecy Problem": The claim that there are no prophecies about Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in earlier scriptures is inaccurate. While the exact name "Ahmad" may not appear verbatim in existing Biblical texts, there are several passages that Muslims interpret as foretelling Muhammad's coming: Deuteronomy 18:18 speaks of a prophet like Moses arising from among the brethren of the Israelites. Muslims interpret this as referring to Muhammad, who came from the Ishmaelite line. John 14:16 mentions the coming of a "Comforter" or "Advocate" (Paraclete in Greek). Some Islamic scholars argue that this originally referred to "Periklutos" (the praised one), which is similar in meaning to "Muhammad" or "Ahmad". Song of Solomon 5:16 uses the term "Machmadim" in Hebrew, which some Muslims argue is related to Muhammad's name. While these interpretations are debated, they demonstrate that the Islamic claim is not based on "lost" prophecies, but on existing texts interpreted through an Islamic lens. Demonic Influences: The portrayal of Prophet Muhammad's first revelation experience misrepresents Islamic sources. The initial fear and confusion Muhammad experienced is seen in Islamic tradition as a natural human reaction to an overwhelming divine encounter, not as evidence of demonic influence. Regarding the "Satanic Verses" incident, God says in Quran 53:23 "These ˹idols˺ are mere names that you and your forefathers have made up1-a practice Allah has never authorized. They follow nothing but ˹inherited˺ assumptions and whatever ˹their˺ souls desire, although ˹true˺ guidance has already come to them from their Lord." Using the names of the idols as examples to explain his point and telling to consider these examples. Incorporation of Pagan Elements: The claim that Islam incorporated pagan elements misunderstands the Islamic perspective on monotheistic history. Islam sees itself as a restoration of the original monotheism of Abraham, not an incorporation of paganism. The Kaaba, for instance, is believed in Islamic tradition to have been originally built by Abraham and Ishmael as a house of monotheistic worship, later corrupted by pagan practices, and finally restored to its original purpose by Muhammad. The rituals associated with the Hajj, while sharing some outward similarities with pre-Islamic practices, were given new meanings and purposes within the Islamic framework. This transformation of existing cultural practices to serve monotheistic ends is seen in Islamic thought as a divine strategy for guiding people towards true faith, not as a compromise with paganism. Private Revelations: While it's true that Muhammad's initial revelation occurred in private, the majority of his prophetic career was public. The Quran was revealed over 23 years, often in response to public events and questions. Many revelations occurred in the presence of his companions. Moreover, the private nature of the initial revelation is seen in Islamic tradition as a means of preparing Muhammad for his public mission, not as a way of avoiding scrutiny. The subsequent public nature of his prophethood, including open challenges to his opponents and public proclamations of divine messages, demonstrates that Islam does not rely solely on private revelations. Supernatural Translation Abilities: The portrayal of Muhammad as simply reciting the Quran without understanding is inaccurate. Islamic tradition holds that the revelations came with understanding. The Quran's linguistic excellence is seen as a miracle precisely because it came through someone known to be unlettered, demonstrating divine origin. Introduction of New Scriptures: The Quran does not claim to replace previous scriptures entirely, but to confirm what remains true in them and to correct what has been altered or misinterpreted over time. The Quran acknowledges the divine origin of previous revelations while claiming to be the final, preserved revelation. This concept of progressive revelation is not unique to Islam and is found in various religious traditions. The Quran's relationship to previous scriptures is one of continuity and correction, not wholesale replacement. In conclusion, while the video presents these parallels as evidence against the authenticity of Islam, a closer examination reveals that many of these claims are based on misunderstandings or misrepresentations of Islamic teachings and history. Islam's foundational claims, when understood in their proper context, present a coherent theological system that builds upon, rather than contradicts, the monotheistic traditions that preceded it. The Quran and the life of Prophet Muhammad continue to be subjects of scholarly study and debate, both within and outside the Islamic tradition. This ongoing engagement with Islamic sources demonstrates the depth and complexity of Islamic thought, which cannot be easily dismissed through superficial comparisons or out-of-context citations. It's important to approach these topics with an open mind, recognizing the depth of scholarship within the Islamic tradition and the diversity of interpretations among Muslim scholars. Interfaith dialogue and comparative religious studies are best served by a nuanced understanding of each tradition's claims and internal logic, rather than by attempts to discredit through selective comparisons. I hope to continue this interfaith dialogue respectfully.

Christian prophets did have a lot of private revelations though. Moses was the only one to see the burning bush, and many prophets had dreams. Jesus didn’t need revelations because He is God. Too many facts have been ignored just to make a list of artificial parallels. To mention a few: 1) Prior prophecies: Just like Christians dont accept prophecies about Muhammad in NT, Jews dont accept prophecies about Jesus in OT. 2) Private revelations: What about the 40 Days mysterious isolation in the wilderness by Jesus? 3) Pagan influences: In Islam, Kaaba is considered to be founded by Abrahim and Hajj was the ritual originally started by him, so no pagan roots here. On the other hand, many scholars believe Trinity to be a pagan idea. -----------------------------

Most faith converts have spiritual evidence that non-believers don’t. This is important to understand because critical apologetic arguments often rely on skepticism (if not satirical cynicism), which is not spiritually persuasive. Critical apologetics resonates more with those outside the criticized tradition because they have nothing to lose. These arguments prevent non-believers from exploring truth and building relationships, more than they convince believers to doubt. However, with enough seemingly contradictory empirical evidence, even true spiritual evidence may be abandoned. To the point of spite, enmity and blame of God. This happens especially when a person's attachment to their faith is more cultural than spiritual. For those who are merely culturally converted, a healthy experience with empiricism can foster growth and discovery. This is where the apologetic logician needs to make room for empathy if they truly want to help people see truth. Let’s assume that the spiritual evidence someone received was in the context of a tradition that was not fully aligned with the fullness of truth yet was still imparted by God. Just assume for a moment, that you're in this situation. I wish that proactive, critical apologists who take a more confrontational stance would recognize that they are attacking a belief system they don't have a personal stake in. When motivated by a genuine quest for truth, such discussions are valuable. But when driven by a desire to simply be convincing, it becomes a form of pride. Sharing the light of truth (the Gospel of Christ) should be the goal. This is why the Savior says we are to be a light unto the world. Light spreads outward without limit, but gravity that becomes too self-serving collapses inward. I hope we can avoid tribal apologetics that are weaponized to tear something down. Instead, we should use intellectual and rational apologetics to elevate truth and facilitate diálogos. Light (truth) attracts people by free will, not by force. Rather than trying to extinguish someone else’s light, we should let truth shine. If this doesn’t resonate with you, ask yourself why- "why do I feel like truth can't be found in other traditions"- find the root of that "why," and you might learn something about yourself and your beliefs.

If by spiritual evidence you mean supernatural experiences, do remember that demons can give you those experiences just as easily as God. You can't base your understanding of spiritual truth on such experiences. It will open you to all kinds of deceptions and spiritual attacks by entities that may well seem right and good to you. I really, really plead you - please don't leave the safety of the Word that God gave to us through the 4 thousand years long line of patriarchs and prophets, and which the saints have kept for the past 6 thousand years. Don't turn left or right from it, or go for anything new or different. That Word has been given for your salvation, for your safety.

@@AnnaMarianne I appreciate your concern and take it sincerely. Why would demonic influences promote an understanding of Christ as Savior and Redeemer? While we may not agree on certain theological issues, we share a belief in the same historical Jesus. It’s hard for me to see why this should be considered such a threat as to justify a contentious stance, especially against those who strive for better lives motivated by a shared belief in a transcendent good. What specific practical behaviors (not theological beliefs) do you see today as the fruits of LDS beliefs that lead you to believe the devil might be behind it? There is no perfect tradition, the Bible more than anything testifies of the follies of its own covenant Israel. But why the combative stance?

@@amertlichbelieve me, not coming across as attacking or bitter here. I have witnessed many bad fruits from the LDS church. I think a lot of it comes from teaching a soft version of prosperity gospel. While not outright with it, it’s definitely deeply engrained in the churches I have had friends go to. One guy who was married young out of high school trying to make ends meet? Highly pressured to give tithe and promised he would receive financial blessings for this sacrifice. No one even mentioning how hard it was for him to put food on the table. All of it was on his Facebook and I was hurting for the guy reading all of it. This is the type of person a church helps support by providing food, not instead pressuring that person to support the church. One of many stories like this. It’s interesting too that the apostles are all wealthy to varying degrees. Many LDS friends spoke of this sort of thing as showing God’s favor and this being an example to this. It’s an example of a good fruit. Just look at the leaders, God’s blessing is on the church. This is what they should aspire to. However it feeds into what I mentioned above. This leads me to the LDS church’s very secretive dealings with finances. They have gone to great lengths to hide finances even from its own church members. It very much reminds me of Ananias and Sapphira. The way they handled everything with the SEC was morally wrong. Not saying they broke many laws, but as we know what is lawful doesn’t automatically mean it’s moral such as with abortion. They have $2+ billion in land holdings as well. In my community growing up, they used this to their advantage. Prominent LDS members in positions of power wouldn’t allow Protestant churches to build anything across from schools. One of these well known LDS city councilman admitted this in a public meeting believe it or not. Our church elders were livid but didn’t have the finances to fight this in court. Finally my church had to sell the land after decades of battling and it ended up becoming a strip mall. They would rather have that across the street from a school than a Protestant church. However the LDS church has bought up land across from most elementary, middle and high schools on the area building stake centers/meetinghouses and/or seminary buildings. This is especially true with farmland around expanding communities when building new schools. They have used people in power and money to bully their way around. It has unfortunately for them has burned any bridges that may have been there for building community with those around them. Again I am not bitter while it might sound like it. Just relaying the negative effects of, in a roundabout way, worshiping money and pride along with the bad fruits those bring.

@@rmac9177 The type of criticisms you raise more generally apply to any institution led by fallible people. However, your implication is correct, that if an institution claims to represent God’s kingdom on earth, it should indeed be held to a higher standard. It’s hard to be fully impartial, though, when these institutions are closely tied to people’s faith and beliefs. Similar criticisms could easily be directed at Jewish or Catholic institutions. Scripture makes it clear that God often works through institutions to establish His kingdom on earth. Yet it also shows that these institutions sometimes miss the mark and even overreach. Institutions, even those claiming divine authority, are vulnerable to corruption because they are led by individuals with free will. Is there any institution that you consider completely incorruptible? Protestants might argue that their movement arose precisely because God doesn’t need an institution to accomplish His work, but instead works within the hearts of His people. While there’s truth in that, it also overlooks many things, including the fact that an institution was instrumental in giving Christianity the foundation and influence it enjoys today. Protestantism itself would not exist without the Catholic Church. The Protestant movement has provided a powerful counterbalance to the propensity of institutions to fall into corruption, yet it emerged in response to institutional shortcomings. Likewise, Christianity would not have become what it is without the institutions established by God to His covenant Israel and later corrupted by Pharisees and Sadducees. Any Christian tradition that claims a lineage of priesthood authority naturally tends toward institutionalization as a means of maintaining, organizing, and faithfully administering that authority. Which is why many who reject the necessity of the priesthood are rejecting the need for institutions. Yet it's hard to deny that God worked through priesthood rites and rituals anciently. So, while it’s fair to examine the LDS Church critically, its imperfections in temporal matters shouldn’t discredit it altogether. The fact remains that institutions are necessary to unite and organize people effectively. The devil is well aware of their corruptibility so it should come as no surprise that they are constantly a target of this aim.

I'm not a Muslim or a Mormon, but to play devil's advocate, perhaps even literally, it's very plausible that God could make someone able to read a language he never studied, given that God was able to bring about the confusion of tongues in the first place and that He was able to give the Twelve the ability to speak across language barriers at the Pentecost. With God, all things are possible. Muhammad and Joseph Smith are still suspicious for all the other reasons you listed, but you might be holding the New Testament to a different standard if you think God-given language abilities are out of bounds. God bless. Edit: Also on the topic of successors, there is the fact that James, the brother of Jesus, acted as a leader in the early church, being the first bishop of Jerusalem. He spoke with authority at the council of Jerusalem about what laws the missionaries should bring to the gentile converts, including abstinence from food sacrificed to idols, the meat of things strangled, blood, and fornication. Obviously Jesus is still King, and He's just reigning from heaven, but you can at least see a reason accusations of nepotism might be made against us Christians. Although by all accounts James was a very righteous man, leading to him being referred to as James the Just. Allegedly he was so righteous he was even beloved by non-Christian Jews living in Judea.

False religion is one of two satanic weapons against humankind, the other being Materialism. Both are characterized by three perversions of human necessity: personal power, monetary wealth, and sexual desire. All false religions (including Atheism), angle on this, even as does all materialistic pursuits. This is what makes God’s eternal plan so different and so difficult for most to embrace. God employs counterintuitive means to create faith in mankind. Those who belong Him will demonstrate humility in all of life, be content with basic human necessities for life, and express sexual pleasures within the confines of the God-ordained bond of marriage. How very different God’s will from ours in these matters. It’s a wonder anyone is saved.

The reason why there is no new revelation is that God did not prepare His people over thousands of years for Him to walk the face of the earth, heal, teach, preach, die a horrible death, and rise from the dead only for someone like Muhammed or Joseph Smith to tell the world what He "forgot" to say.

What about Paul’s letters? Aren’t those written after Christ containing things not said in the gospels?
@breandanh4912

@@mcable217 Correct. Even with regard to Paul's letters, revelation is complete in Jesus. The Church may come to a deeper understanding of what has been revealed, but it cannot contradict nor make the claim that there is something missing. There will no longer be any profits.

@@breandanh4912 What do you think of the voice telling peter to rise, kill, and eat unclean things? Was that something Christ forgot to tell Peter while he was alive?

@@mcable217 You bring up an interesting point. Christ fulfills the Old Testament, and this means that Christians are no longer bound by the ritualistic dietary laws. Although you can still adhere to them so long as it is understood that it is no longer a requirement for salvation. The thing is, we know that God speaks to people through visions. And, as Catholics, we know that other saints have received visions since the coming of Christ, and that people may receive visions to this day, however, notice here that the vision given Peter in this instance serves to emphasise the fulfillment of the Old Testament. In other words, no new revelation. The "visions" of Muhammed or Joseph Smith are clearly not from God as they contradict revleation.

25:25 this guy talks about how god has hands, and he is referring to the time when muhammad said that allah has two right hands. But you dont need to be muslim in order to realize this is a metaphor for god always being dominant and never being clumsy (unlike right handed people who use their left hand). Acts 7:55-56 talks about jesus standing at the right hand of god. Clearly this is also metaphor
