15 Spartan Life Rules (How To Be Mentally Strong)

Күн бұрын

The Spartans were a warrior culture hell-bent on producing the toughest citizens to have ever lived. They are notorious for their distaste of weakness and greatly shamed anyone who displayed signs of it. While researching this ancient city-state the same lessons seemed to emerge from their ruthless history and thus this video was born.
I created these life rules to represent qualities the Spartans valued. I wanted to make something that would help us to share in their grit, a practical guide to bolster our mental strength. The Spartans thrived during adversity due to their disciplined lifestyles, they faced life with courage and made honour their primary focus.

@Tony I have experienced the pain of regret too many times. And I can support this statement fully as I’ve been more disciplined recently. I am heading where I want to go. I would do it a hundred times over. Pain of discipline is negligible compared to the pain of regret (the pain of not starting earlier and not sticking with your plans and habits). Wish you a good one.

And society wasted much of my youth forcing me to learn imaginary numbers and other nonsense I don't ever use nor need in my life as an English teacher in Asia. Society should be destroyed. It is evil because for that reason alone, let alone myriad other reasons it is wicked, it steals many, MANY years which add up to lifetimes, such that society is MURDEROUS for enforcing stupid shit like that onto those who need it NOT! Everyone in favour of it should be forced to take ballet classes. Break their legs to do splits. That has much more use in the majority's lives than numbers that don't even exist.

@Carbon Campaign What he has spoken its not angry issues, he just has self-awareness most people in this time and age don't have that it they have but they ignore it and then they use the digital or virtual world to escape from reality, you spend your time in school cant even choose something that you like because you can't profit, they teach you stupid Knowledge and worst after university they teach you to go work for someone else, and when you reach some older age they will kick you from the company and replace you with a younger dude and the guy who you work for it's there getting toons money with the work of other people. But people with this self-awareness should use their head to turn the game to their turn find a way to profit and use the money to build an empire and help people that feel lost and help them getting the success that's how you break those greedy mtf

That's why Alexander the Great was greater than Chinless Khan't. Also, the former took down bigger prey than the latter, and did it way faster: the Persian Empire was far bigger than any kingdom the Mongols took down. Manchus had made the Mongols' job easy since China was divided, not as big as the Persian in either the north nor the south. Chinless couldn't finish taking China. He died before his son finished the job. Alexander was superior.

Finally I am a fire arms ranger specialist and I could snipe you from 2 clicks away, easy. I won't because the law is there and I abide by it, but I could, provided I found your geological location, which I could also do by tracing your ip leveraging my connections. Again though, I won't, no point and it is illegal to harm a civillian who is likely no involved in terroristic activity. Just has a smart mouth. So, I dunno, I think I can do quite alot. I recently argued with liberals who put Athenian dumbocracy above Spartan monarchy, and actually resorted to accusing the Spartans of being lazy due to slavery (which Athenians also practiced). I pointed out that the exercise of a Spartan was more work than the liberals ever did in their lives.

@@scintillam_dei The Athenians asked help from the Spartans when they fought the Persians in the battle of Marathon, never to receive it, only to win the battle all by themselves. And do not forget Themistocles who fooled the other Greek Captains in order to wage naval war in the gulf of Salamis, only to emerge victorious against the overwhelming power of the Persian navy. DO NOT underestimate Athenian valor.

@@scintillam_dei Yet is the mother of democracy. Dumbocracy as you call it. Did you know that Socrates had a place in the Athenean phalanx to protect these very ideas? It is a complicated matter that requires an extensive knowledge about Greek history. Sooo if you have insufficient knowledge, as I do, do not make judgements. There were times when Atheneans defeated Spartans in combat not using their naval prowess. Land combat if you will. Strategy was the cause not sheer military training.

@@mitsosakm No, I can certainly judge a political system which says that the majority must be right, to be a bandwagon fallacy, and therefore to be irrational, especially when it murders a philosopher just because he told youth to question the demoncracy. There's nothing good about democracy. "Votes don't count. What counts is who counts the votes." "The best argument against democracy is a 5-minute conversation with the average voter." "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb deciding what to have for dinner."

You will push yourself much harder IV. Every Spartan should undergo a right of passage. A physical or mental trial. Once completed, you are born again, better than ever. V. Speed, strength and agility are less essential than stamina, grit, endurance, and courage. VI. Accepting death will allow you to live your life courageously. It unshackled the mind from the limitations of fear, bringing forth your true potential. VII. Do not engage in gossip, only engage in conversation that will nourish and strengthen your spirit. VIII. Fight for a good cause, every ounce of your being to push that cause further and do not be afraid to defend it. IX. Surround yourself with people who are ruthlessly devoted to becoming their greatest selves. X. A leader does not watch on safely from the rear. XI. Continuously introduce yourself to difficult situations where you are forced to either sink or swim. A great Spartan must have the ability to quickly adapt. XII. Partake in structured, organised and well respected training programs, ensuring you see them through to the finish. XIII. Refuse to be a victim of circumstance. Learn to be self reliant and prepared for any situation. XIV. Find ways to implement short bursts of discomfort into your daily life. This will ensure growth and prevent you from falling into sloth. XV. Dedicate yourself to perpetual physical training, regardless of circumstance and feelings.

If I watch interviews with brilliant creative personalities, I am not concerned with their personal life, but with their creativity.
