For when deciding between universities, just compare the study programs (type of compulsory and elective subjects they offer, are there any placements/internships as part of the program?), graduate / career outcomes for each degree, and of course, entry requirements and tuition fees, and perhaps reviews by previous students on that study program. (You can also apply to more than one university, which is what most people do - and then once you get the offer, you make your final decision).

Is swinburne good for mechanical engineering?

Swinburne is a good uni. Just check the study program (subjects and internship opportunities offered), career outcomes and see whether it is what you are after. You can also get in touch with the uni and discuss graduate outcomes - and compare against the study program of other unis.
