Number 3 reminds me of the story of Soichiro Honda, whose metal piston rings he developed were rejected by Toyota. Motivated by this failure he spent time researching and producing better rings, and along the way began creating small motors for bicycles. This was the beginning of Honda Motors. Had Toyota originally accepted Soichiro's piston rings, Honda as we know it today may not exist. Alux, any chance of a video on Honda? There is a great story there.

A heating pad company to keep their butts warm as soon as the bomb sites cooled down? Now that's one innovative heating pad company. It must have offered many great career opportunities over the years. I think Sony can remain competitive for it has a Japanese tradition of being a legend handing up opportunity to the next generation instead of student loan debt and under employment misery. Look at the quality of the PS4 and God of War 4 game. Top notch quality again. I haven't ever seen a Sony phone so maybe it's not allowed since there really isn't a free market economy any more than the fact consumers have a choice between buying a Apple, Samsung, or a cheapie.

Sony surely will keep up with the other companies because they are dominating the sound industry right now by their MDRs and they are dominating the future of Mirorless cameras as well so they've got it going for them for a good while. For me Sony will go down because... Sony has multiple products but it has drawbacks Sony doesn’t have any dominant product that is “The Best of the Best example: Apple is dominant for making ( Tablets ) Ipads,Bugatti makes the most fastest car in the world and Tesla is leading the electric car industry.Yes Sony is a reliable brand but it is the average behind dominant tech giants and its competitors like Samsung,Apple and Disney.I am not being biased here but this is what I observed.Sony just keep this in mind.I wish you get what I’m saying.Thanks! - Brenzo Venida
