Alux.com the car should opt for a third option in case such as that some how 😭
@princ3chase7 жыл бұрын
The car has to save the owner. That's the only right option for an autonomous AI. The owner is the master because of the ownership. Public transport AI's, on the other hand, could choose to save the many over the few. But even in that case, paying customers have to have priority still. One paying customer should weigh more than one pedestrian. How much more should be according to how high the price is. Pedestrians should be weighed, though lower than passengers because they most likely contributed to the public transport via taxes. They should be weighted lower because they did not pay the fare (remember passengers also paid the taxes and plus the fare for the ride aka they should be the priority). Free public transport could weight both passenger's and pedestrian's lives equally. Alternatively, for a privately owned vehicle, the owner could have the option to pre-set the actions of the car in these specific situations according to their values. They should be able to set whether they want the car to save themselves or the many pedestrians. In conclusion, the car's action should be as close as possible to what the owner would do.

There are always more than two options. If going off-road is not an option, simply slowing down dramatically to reduce the risk of harm to the passenger and to pedestrians could be enabled by retractable spikes, they could be placed in the Treads of the back tires in order to slow down the vehicle in case of a serious emergency, later the spikes can be pushed back in hence, retractable.

Best part is "innocence people on road" how they be on road, in car not predict it? They enter on road not looking around, so they break law. Any way, this is margin, if any, of crashes, so why so many people think about it, they want find problems, and not solution, "make it easier, 2 options" in this case is not easier, it close all other possible options, only to prove concept. and is someone see Tesla after some accident... they are really safely.

The flaw in the final question is assuming that the passenger has to die on impact. The car should be designed so that it can bail out to avoid any number of living obstacles, receive any impact, and protect all living occupants. This is achievable.

emergency alarm that would trigger the car to stop driving it self and let the passenger drive its own whenever notified in such alarming disaster happens.. or else a disaster button that would let the passenger drive in certain amount of mile until it is confirmed that the emergency really happen. the car cannot be stolen anyways because of its GPS features.

The car put in front of the decision whether to kill pedestrians or the owner should run through a quick evaluation on who's fault it is according to the law and then decide in favor of the innocent. At an early stage such evaluation will probably need to be performed by the car itself. To be considered valid, there will need to be some sort of approved logic that legalizes the car's decision (and removes the liability from the car maker, the owner in case it decides to kill the pedestrians. At a later stage, the logic can probably run through the cloud (right at decision time) update the logic run by the authorities about the situation and get an up to the moment judgment by the authorities. It is unlikely as you mentioned in your report that people will want to purchase a car that kills the owner to save 2 drunks that happen to step onto the street at the wrong moment. Scenarios like that need to be run by the general understanding of what feels just (aided and administered by the courts of course). If the owner programmed the car to speed in a village and to disregard speed limits, the accident is caused by him, the innocent pedestrians should live.

The idea of a battery-swapping system was dropped by Tesla a few years ago. At first Tesla build the technology needed for swapping out the battery into each car but after the first few year or so they figured out that almost nobody was interested in paying extra for the battery swappning just for having to wait a little less than they would for charging for their car to be fully recharged. So: Tesla is totally capable of installing battery swapping systems in cars as well as battery swapping stations but didn't see the need or interest by customers. I don't think that Teslas that are currently built have the technology for swapping the battery built in

We need to add to the equation that tesla cars are built like tanks and could survive most impacts and have minimal injuries to passengers. Looking at it from this perspective and adding in that running over pedestrians could cause lifelong injuries, I say we can deduct that mathematically, morally and lawfully the passenger is worth the risk of a crash than running over pedestrians. Also in my case, I'm selfless enough to put myself in danger to save others
