I KNEW THERE WAS AN OCTOPUS SCENE!!! I thought I started going crazy because I remember seeing a version of the film with that scene in it but haven't seen it sense!! This proves that scene DID exist!

Yeah, sometimes the fake looking octopus scene was added to the TV version to make the full 2 hour cut with commercials. They also add the alternate version of Sloth and Chunk going through the pipe area and Chunk is talking about his weird friend with a strange hair mole or something.....

I'm Swedish, so one thing I noticed is that when they are fighting about the coins in the wishing well it sounds like someone is saying "mina skatter" wich is swedish for "my treasures" roughly translated. Unintentionally off course.

Awesome video. The answer to the question about the Us and Them on the mailboxes is as follows- The land and property is getting bought for the Golf Course. The ones that say "Them", are the ones that were happy to sell. The Us, is Mikey's family who are holding out for a miracle to save the Goondocks.

Here's some cool Kindergarten Cop movie info! The school in the background on the Goonies that was also used in Kindergarten Cop was only used for the exterior shots. In Kindergarten Cop, the interior school shots were all shot on a set built on a soundstage at Universal Studios Hollywood. I know this because I was a school kid background extra on this movie. I worked on this for 4 days. It was super fun! It was my first background gig ever. I even got to met Arnold Schwarzenegger! Great memories!

Live in Oregon, can confirm house and school are both in Astoria. Although the owners of the house have it blocked off and secluded now so no one can see it anymore.

I used to think the Fratellis shot and killed Troy’s dad (one of the two mac wearing guys) who turned up at the hideout looking like the same guys who dropped off foreclosure papers at the Walsh household. I never understood how he returned at the end. Only on rewatching recently did I understand they were FBI agents. Still, reenforced how violent the Fratelli gang was.

I also remember seeing the movie play on the Disney Channel back when it was a premium channel. Yeah it's clear that they didn't include the octopus scene because it just wasn't good at all and it just didn't go well with the flow of the movie. But because the channel was basically commercial free since you paid for it, movies shown on it had extra scenes to expand the running time. That's why it the octopus scene along with others were included in the version shown on the Disney Channel in the late 80s-early90s.

That Hand Puppet you see at the 3:51 mark is a hand puppet of “ALF aka Alien Life Form” ALF was a popular tv show in the 80’s. As a side note ALF loved to eat Cats 🐈 Can we all admit how he’s friends enough with Cory to hit him up with a text just to see if that’s his Childhood Picture in the Background at the 2:00 minute mark. You missed a few that I got from the Dvd actors commentary. Chuck had had chicken pox and you can see them during the truffle shuffle if you zoom in. Also Mikey ( Sean Astin). Calls Bran Josh and it was left I the film. I think this was right around the time they find the grate. And stef looses her glasses yet isn't practical blind throughout the movie. Those are just a few that I learned from the actors commentary on my DVD of the Goonies.

@@FreeOpenTruth While I agree with you, there, sadly, there are still people that exists, to this very day, who hasn't t seen such iconic classic films, like my friend who never seen Jaws or whatever other retro movie, in all his life! I even recall hearing someone on NBC's Today say how they never once saw Ghost Busters!!! Early classics, aside, even I haven't seen all kinds of movies to this day... and I'm a huge movie junkie!!!

The director wanted a honest reaction from the goonies kids when they saw the pirate ship for the first time so it was kept hidden from them; however, most of the kids cursed so he had to reshoot it.
