LOVE this video! So many unique ideas that I haven't heard elsewhere! Something I did recently was turn off all social media notifications so I'm not getting distracted by them throughout the day and ending up wasting my time. It sounds so simple but has truly been SUCH a game changer for me! I'm finding that I'm a lot more productive and just happier overall. I was nervous about turning them off at first since my business is partially run through Instagram, but I've just made it a point to check in on my account 2-3 brief times per day and I've noticed I'm much more intentional and productive during those times than I was when I was constantly checking on it throughout the day!

I began to think about the concept of simplifying my life by watching and listening to videos including and similar to your videos! I started by evaluating just how I do things, and how I might change or eliminate those habits. I think I will start by making a capsule set of simple meals for one and save myself time and money! I love the concept of creating a capsule for lots of things I own and thank you.

I bought us a coverless duvet. I no longer have to put a massive duvet cover which was a hassle and used to stress me. I also don't have any extra, fancy pillows on my bed this saves time making it and mess of the being on the floor when we go to bed.

During Covid, I got into the habit of buying the same groceries every week. No more lists, no more stopping in front of an item to ponder if I need it! It has made grocery shopping (and meal making) so much less stressful!

Loved when you said to put things in baskets!! I feel like I do that in small spaces (under the bathroom sink, in the cutlery drawer, etc.) but this gave me the idea to do it for my entry way too! Mail, keys, hair ties, you name it, all throw on a table. It was making me crazy! I planned on doing it later when I got home from work, but then you said the top about doing small things right away. So I figured I could do some of it quickly before I had to leave. I got it all done and more! We always exaggerate how long these simple tasks will take. Thank you!

The simple thing that really helps me in the morning is to set out all my clothes I'll be wearing that day the night before. I also set my purse and tote bag by the door. I will often make my tea the night before and put it into a thermos that stays hot for 12 hours. I am trying to make myself wash my dishes everyday. If I come home to a counter that has dirty dishes...I don't want to wash the dishes and then start dinner. I have been trying to make one change and then when I have that one mastered.... move on to the next : )

The Do Not Disturb feature definitely helps me stay organised - especially at work! I also started to block out time in my schedule just for specific tasks like emails. That way, I can be focused, but I know that things are being taken care of. If its really urgent, I make myself available for calls though

Bravo pour ton français Ashlynne! 🎉 Having staple meals is a great one here and we are looking to expand that. I also try to clean as I go, which is a little bit like the one touch rule. I wish my bf would do that but oh well! 🤷🏻♀️ one thing I implemented recently is to empty the sink before going to bed. Before I did that I would leave 1-2 items in the sink but inevitably in the morning it would pile up like crazy and then dishwashing would be daunting (don’t have a dishwasher). So now that I start with a clean slate in the morning it’s not piling as much.

Intermittent fasting: two meals a day. Yoga every morning, in bed! Also every evening, in bed. Helps me unwind at night and energizes my morning. Also listening to positive affirmations after morning Yoga sets the tone for my day. I try to shut off devices 2 hours before sleep. A capsule wardrobe is game changing. After watching how wearing synthetic materials next to skin negatively affects our health, it made it easier to get rid of excess clothes. Kept natural fabrics in combination of color and style that mix and match well. Whittle down kitchen to mainly cast iron skillet, instant pot and microwave. Soup and stews in instant pot, oats in microwave and eggs or fish in skillet. Saves time and space.

An ultra-tiny way I simplify is to keep my dish soap container open all.the.time. That saves me having to open it multiple times a day. Sounds silly I know. I make extra's when cooking. This week from Monday to Friday I think I cooked three meals plus an extra meat. One of those was a big batch of soup that was used for several meals. I live 20 minutes from town so I always group my errands together.

I don't even like all the Pinterest ideas of having hooks inside your kitchen cabinets to hang up your measuring cups and spoons because that seems to tedious to have to hang each one up; I save a lot of time by just throwing them in my drawer. :)

A new trend is the "minimalist lifestyle." Living by bare bones. A way to not only cut many expenses but also to save money which will grow wealth. But is this good for you? As I told my own subscribers, I contend that instead of having an existence of "minimalism," living in a shack and a sleeping bag, you should adopt the mindset instead. In other words, you don't have to deprive yourself and suffer to have the minimalist mindset which will give you money to invest. The minimalist mindset person will buy only what he needs. He won't go in the winter without a coat but will by the cheapest one that does the job--not the designer label. He won't buy a 50K car when he makes 80K a year. He'll buy the 15K Honda Civic used one and save money on a lesser car payment, insurance and gas. He doesn't go to TGI Friday's every week--he goes once a month and grills at home the other three weeks. He brings his coffee from home and doesn't spend 4 bucks twice a day at Starbucks down the street from his office. See the point? You don't have to live like a monk. The minimalist mindset just cuts down on the unnecessary. If you do this you will find that not only do financial problems disappear but you will grow a ton of assets on the side. Hope this helps someone out there---Charles

Disagree on the spice thing. It matters. Substitutions aren't the same. But! Instead of buying spices at the grocery store, buy them at bulk stores. Because 1. It's way cheaper 2. You can buy just a couple spoonfuls if you're not sure you'll like it. (Or you can buy lots of you love it and have a big container like a mason jar to fill.)

Bear with me... I use the same glass for for water roughly a week at a time. [And I may hand wash it in between.] Hear me out. This is just my water glass. I keep it on the counter beside my fridge. Before I go upstairs I drink a glass of water. When I come downstairs I drink a glass of water. When I think I'm hungry, I drink a glass of water, and if I still feel hungry after 15 mins I have a snack or my next meal. After I take my dogs on a walk or otherwise leave my house, I drink a glass of water upon return. It reduces dishes and waste, and helps me get my water in without trying. Using the time or slogan marked jugs or water bottles didn't do it for me and it was one more thing to clean. If you are doing this though it needs to be made of glass, not plastic or metal for cleanliness reasons.
