Abbey honey, so educate yourself with the bible that "Fake" Christians use against us to fight them back. Gets exhausting at times yes. But as they like to flip out and pick and choose sections of the bible to tell us where our souls are going when we die....it really helps to pick out shit from the bible to sling back at them. Eventually they tire, and give up. I never back down to fake Christians, and I remind them they will be judged as harshly in their own deaths, as they judge others throughout their lifetime. I also remind them, Christ would not be sitting on you tube trolling the witchy community if he were here walking on earth. That is not God's work. They do not have a guaranteed ticket into heaven just because they hide behind the label of "I'm a Christian". Hugs to you.

When I was a beginner witch in the 90's - not knowing any better - I did damn near everything Hearth here says *not* to do, and from my experience I can say with certainty how right she is. I made a lot of mistakes and conjured things I couldnt control and didnt know how to banish. I ended up hurting myself and others and caused a lot of trauma and made my life incredibly difficult for a long time as a result of my ignorance. As Hearth says, yes magic can be lovely and beautiful, but it can also be incredibly dangerous if you dont know what you're doing.
@amyp.5754 жыл бұрын
So you can conjure something and use it's energy? How do we learn to banish?
@lorensims48464 жыл бұрын
Wow. She's right, most of the stuff in the '90s was crap, but there were a few gems. Scott Cunningham is always good for the beginner. Spellcraft is tricky and can easily come back to bite you. What goes around comes around. I was lucky that there was a charming little occult bookshop near me when I was starting. No, you don't need all that junk. Avoid expensive, choose meaningful. It's called a practice for a reason. Experience is your best toolbox and you gain experience through practice. I'll do it better next time. Learn and do. Ground and center. Repeat.

And also, don't blame yourself if you aren't able to focus for more than a couple of seconds, that's okay, me neither most of the times, for me metitating is more about being aware of that and forgiving yourself and always try again. A lot of great, realistic tips, Hearth! I’d also like to say to beginner witches: think about why you want to be a witch. If you’ve felt the call toward something “bigger” or “different” than what you were taught or know, or if you’ve experienced things you can’t explain, or if you’re just looking for something spiritually, then definitely look into it. The more passion you have for this lifestyle, the easier it will be to stay with it. Also, as a point, don’t let what others say influence you lol Do what makes you happy, for sure, and makes you feel fulfilled.

To any beginner witches; find a way to focus that works best for you, it will be the foundation of all your work and how you align the energy in and around you. The natural state of energy is neutral. It's not "good" or "bad." I know you will hear A LOT about light and positive energy and may even be obsessed with "cleansing." It IS possible to cleans the things you need from something as well. The Abrahamic religions have brainwashed the majority of the population into thinking in polar opposites instead of letting something or someone just be and exist. There must always be a balance. There is NO shame in who or what we are. We could never do anything wrong enough to deserve an eternity of suffering and damnation.

It can be overwhelming at times. And when things like self-doubt and procrastination kick in, one might feel lost. I find asking myself "WHY am I doing this? I just realised that I practiced feeling energies and things like that for such a long time without knowing. Mabey it's because I'm very sensitive when it comes to feeling others emotions, which is not always as cool aus it sounds, because I tend to be affected by them very easily. I also always collected nature things as a kid like spacific stones, sticks and seashells. Yesterday I went out collecting stones to make my own runestones and suprisingly I was still drawn to the same kind of stone. Also I know that my grandfather used to do magic because I got handed down his spiritdice (didn't know what it was back then). My mum also used to practice magic but for some reason stopped and threw out all magical things in our house. Includeing the dice. So I'm basicly a broomcoleseted witch in a family of witches.😑

I felt more connected into the nature, the earth, the energy in the air around me. I learned the answer from this channel: Pagan is an umbrella term for a person who practices any non-Abrahamic religion (Abrahamic = Christianity, Muslim, Judaism) so there are hundreds of things included in Paganism including Wicca. So a Wiccan is technically a Pagan. You can be a witch without being Wiccan because Wicca is a specific religion that began in the 50s which honors both the God & Godess, and you can be a witch without being religious.. You taught me well @Hearthwitch!

Nice video ! If i would include my own tips to yours, it would be to overcome the doghma around duality. It is not about good versus evil, but rather is more like how polarity on a magnet worth. The way i came to understand it, is as follow; nothing can exist without an opposite, see that in plants, they use both sun from above and water from below to sustain them. For a set temperature to be felt, there need to exist both hot and cold. For animals to reproduces, there need to be both male and female ( one of the reasons i found out why male are seen as positive and female as negative, well, look at the genitals, at first sight, one is an addition, the other is a substraction ). You can do something perceived as very evil for someone, but would actually be good for someone else. What churchianity has truly done with duality, is believing so much in goodness, they became so selfrighteous, that they subsequently starting trusting evil....

It’s funny and awesome that I am now in this witchy journey. I bought myself a bunch of crystals for birthday, not for any other reason than I love looking at them. I collected them as a kid and loved looking for cool rocks and stones. Then all of a sudden I started coming across lots of witch related content and it was like the universe telling me you need to explore this. I’ve always been interested since I was kid, but I always steered away cause in the 90s I only knew about Wicca and wasn’t interested in a religion. I am now in my 30s discovering that’s not the only way and all the “pretend” magic and spells I made up as a kid was just witchcraft calling me and I’m finally listening. I love you’re videos. I feel that the simplest of practices such as visualisation and grounding are so important and actually such potent exercises to work on. I think it helps with mental health so much as well as confidence and self-love and being able to stand in your power. I would just say if anyone is reading the comments to not be discouraged by anyone who tells you that you're 'not a witch' or 'it's silly' or 'sinful' or that 'you're not doing it right' because you forge your own path and anyone who tries to tell you any of those things, it's simply a reflection of where they are on their path and their shadows - whether they be spiritual or not - and allow it and let it wash over you but just know that doesn't have to be the truth for you! You make your own craft! Much love to all 💖 Xxx

I've also set up psychic/spiritual walls for my bedroom by closing my eyes and visualizing laying blue bricks down in front of my door and my window. Since then I've been sleeping better.

Other tips for beginner witches that I feel like need to be mentioned that weren’t mentioned, that I wish someone told me: 1. Deities and other spirits are like the wands in Harry Potter. They choose you, not the other way around. I see them and hear them, as well as unconsciously channel their shit. It’s not always pleasant. Do not get discouraged if an entity doesn’t respond to you. If they want to talk to you and work with you, they will let you know. Sometimes they will indirectly communicate with you through obvious signs or even animals. It depends on what they feel like will be best for you to understand them. 2. LISTEN TO YOUR SPIRIT GUIDES AND INTUITION! How do you know if something worked? Go with your intuition. Got a magic-related question? Ask your guides and cross reference the info you’re given. I trust my guides 100%. This is not a substitute for research, but the more you do this, the more accurate the information you’re given because this will help build your relationship with your spirit guides. 3. DO NOT try to invoke the power of any spirit, deity, or otherwise if you do not have their explicit permission. They will be very pissed because it’s considered disrespectful, and it could have very negative consequences. 4. Use your intuition and listen to your spirit guides when choose anything, from magic books to items you will use in your craft. This is especially important with tarot cards and items that are specific to witchcraft. 5. DO NOT accept gifts from the fae. Period. If they directly give you something, politely decline. They’re not human, so human customs don’t apply to them. They see it as a contract and will fuck your shit up if you don’t put up your end of the contract. The lower-level small fae are easily offended, so expect backlash, but you’re not required to appease their sensitivities. They don’t give a shit how long you’ve been working with them and if something went missing and they bring it back to you, it’s probably because they took it in the first place 😒 I work with dryads and have regular communication with other nymphs, as well as have a dryad spirit guide and have too much unwanted experience with the fae. Please don’t accept gifts from the fae. 6. Know who you’re communicating with. You might think you’re talking to a spirit, deity, or even fae. You might not be. Some spirits and deities like to mess with humans. If you can see or hear them, it’s easier, but otherwise, use your intuition. Your spirit guides will tell you, “That’s not ___” and can block the connection to protect you. 7. If you’re confused as to what to research first, LEARN DEFENSIVE AND PROTECTIVE MAGIC. Defend yourself against threats and unwanted energies from all entities and other witches. Trust me, respectable entities like humans with knowledge and a backbone. They will respect you for it, thus, improving your relationship with them.... which leads me to my next tip. 8. Perhaps this is my experience, but spiritual beings are also people with feelings and emotions. They say don’t humanize them, but acknowledging they have emotions and aren’t these inherently cruel beings can make them happy, depending on who it is. Have open communication with the people you work with and if someone is angry at you and you don’t know why, it’s best to just ask them straight up. Clear up any misunderstandings (they’ll know if you’re lying). I’ve been able to solve conflicts with beings I’ve had issues with simply by communicating with them and clearing up any misconceptions. Sometimes talking is all you need to do. 9. Leave offerings for the ones you work with. They’ll be very happy because it’s a sign of respect. Dedicate candles to them if you want. They’ll be very happy and appreciative of it, and they’ll respect you (esp important for deity work). I work with Freya, as well as other deities, and my relationships with them have improved since doing this. With fae, though, be cautious, as the very nature of lower-level fae can be greedy and dangerous. 10. Do NOT call the beings you work with (esp deities) by nicknames unless you have their explicit permission. You wouldn’t do it to other people, would you? It’s disrespectful and crosses boundaries that shouldn’t be crossed. If you don’t want it done to you, don’t do it to them. Most of them will forgive it the first time and correct you (from my experience, anyway). Some don’t care, and don’t even acknowledge it. Others will be silent but obviously furious. It depends on their personality. If you offend them unintentionally by doing that, apologize and correct that behavior. They’ll usually forgive you if you do that. 11. DO NOT let spiritual beings (esp deities) live with you. When I say this, I mean they linger in your house for prolonged periods of time when you’re not doing magic or asking them for advice or anything of that sort. They have their own realms and need to go when you want to send them away. Since we’re still human, the time we spend with them should be used wisely. Otherwise, it WILL drain your energy and you will be tired all the time. I learned this the hard way. You can send them away. It’s YOUR space. You have a say as to who can and can’t come in. 12. Cast a protective circle around your space when doing anything, from tarot readings, to spells. This will prevent any unwanted energies. You have a say as to who can and can’t enter the circle. 13. Don’t worry about what gifts or abilities you have. I’m a medium, as well as other things, and trying to fight against that takes a lot of my energy. Work with your gifts and abilities and discover them naturally. 14. If someone wants to work with you, you have the right to say no if you don’t feel right about them. You have the right to ask questions, such as what they will bring to the table, as well as experience they have with other witches. I’ve had deities that serve the same function as others that have come to me, so I firmly but politely declined (some of them still come around to assist with spells, though, and of their own accord). You’re not wrong or disrespectful for doing so. 15. This correlates with 14. I don’t give a shit if it’s a deity😒, angel 😒😒, demon😒😒😒, fae😒😒😒😒, or otherwise. If it’s someone you feel is attacking your energy and they have malicious intent, you don’t have to be polite. Say no AND MEAN IT. Listen to your spirit guides, as competent ones will tell you if they’re to be trusted or not if you’re unsure. They can also protect you from as much as they can if they feel like you’ll be in danger from communicating with harmful entities, or at least stand up for you if it’s a more powerful being. 16. You can use ANYTHING as part of your craft. If you are using it, make sure to cleanse it thoroughly, consecrate it, and make your intention clear for that item. Thank the item when you’re done with it. Research cleansing and consecration before doing this. I might have missed more but I feel like those are very important tips that a lot of witches leave out in their videos. Please let me know if you have any more you’d like to add on.

These are great. I’m still figuring out the deity one. I’m not wanting to work any since I just left Christianity but one is trying to very known to me. I’ve said no but I’m wondering now if I should reconsider. I just feel it’s too early for me (while I’ve been a Christian I have been doing small studies on witchcraft too).

I would like to say, I really appreciate the information you give out, and it has helped alot. I myself have officially been practicing for one year, and honestly every one around me made fun that they knew I was a witch before I did. Anyways because of that, many of the things I have been doing all my life was technically witchcraft, and I just was in denial/oblivious. So coming in I thought I had to learn a bunch of stuff, and come to realize... I already did/knew it. I just had a better understanding. So I went in more nervous with the title that the actual practice. Though I did have to get over my catholic guilt to come to terms that this is my thing and it makes me happy, and the people I open up to noticed that as well. I completely agree with doing the research and cross refrencing. There was a lot of stuff I found over the years that either blended or contradicted. But in time I also found a method that seems to work for me, and not necessarily for others. For example for any new witches who want to see how varied and different things can get that you won't find in books, I tend to work alot with music (I will literally listen to sooo many genres that it allows me to pick a particular song for my current working. And for some reason listening to Cirque du Soleil's music really helps me for making things happen.), and drawings for my workings along side with candle workings, with ALOT of visualization and it has worked significantly well for me. I have technically been doing like that since I was young, but now I can actually focus on what I want rather it just happen at random points. It's usually small things, but when I wanted to get out of my job that was making me miserable, I applied, and did my working... I legit thought I didn't get the job but the position was delayed by a month from the original start date and they called back and asked if I was still interested since everyone else who applied moved on due to the delay. Got the job and was able to move forward. So ya, find what works for ya, and have fun with it.

Great video. :) I want to add, in reference to the part where you said some people have more natural ability than others: Also remember not to get discouraged when others seem to have an easier time (and/or don't get cocky if you're the one with a natural inclination.) It's important to keep in mind that no one has *everything* come easy to them. Most people will have an easier time with certain aspects than with other. A personal example: Energy sensing and sending are things I was doing long before I even knew what magic was. That's my one easy thing. However, things like meditation and dream work are very difficult for me. I've been working at those for a long time, and feel that I've made barely any progress. Every person's path and strengths are different, and that's ok.

#14 is so relatable for me. I'd always felt a connection to the craft and started exploring through books when I was about 11/12. Unfortunately, the only person I knew in real life to look to for guidance was not critical of the texts she was reading and recommending to me and wasn't using witchcraft as a tool, but as a get-rich-quick gimmick. All the texts she gave me were written from the perspective of a Wiccan, just as you say. As a result I thought Wicca = witchcraft, and when I had no connection to the teachings of Wicca I thought that meant that the connection I was feeling to the craft wasn't real either. It's only now - 15 years later - that I am exploring again and starting to understand why a huge spiritual part of my life was missing! I've been looking into hearth and green witchcraft for just about two months and already I am feeling so much more validated and empowered in my own connection to the world around me. Thanks so much for putting such effort and thought into your videos because they are definitely one of the reasons I started being curious again!

The tip that really stood out to me and helped me was number 11! If you don’t know why you’re using something you may as well not be using it at all makes a lot of sense combined with your other tips about how our items are more just “props” ! I think I am guilty of having done work with things just because I read “put all these items in a protection jar and you’re protected” and then just followed it without ever learning what each ingredient really means! This is wonderful advice I’m going to remember. I need to do a lot more learning before I just try and get to the “fun bits”

What I did first thing was go join an online group of witches and magical practitioners. I asked around, figured out what I wanted to worship and what I didn’t want to worship, got help setting up an altar, etc. Once I had started a book of shadows and tried out a few rituals, I joined an online coven (Hearth’s, actually). They have provided the support for me to keep going in magic over the last year. I found a few girls who were also new to witchcraft who lived near me, and we occasionally join together and do small rituals.

Also, for herbology (as in you consume the herbs in some way, inhalation, drinking, eating, etc.) be ABSOLUTELY sure you know the medicinal effects of the herb before mixing. Some plants don't work well together, and most have potential to have adverse effects, such as muscle twitches or intestinal discomfort.
